SOLID sell made construction. Mush better than those cheap aluminum ones you get with replacement sights. This one will last.

I was so excited to see this item on sale that I quickly purchased it before realizing it was the wrong size. I needed the 5.56 version, so returned it. Having said that, Otis products are the best for firearm cleaning. I did purchase the correct size elsewhere, and it works great. I would recommend you not use knock off brand cleaning stars with this device (as I did at first) as they tend to be much softer and leave debris (filaments) in the chamber. That means you'll probably have to spend more money to buy Otis brand stars, but you'll get a much cleaner firearm in return.

The cleaning pads fray apart and leave debris behind. You can clean the grime off, but then leave lint in the chamber you just cleaned. The scraper part is still useful but the cleaning pads are counter-productive. I usually like Otis products but this is a loser. Waste of money.

I am a little disappointed because I wish the scraper was a little tighter in the chamber. I really wish that the pads were larger and firmer. I am actually using the 7.62 pads in cleaning out the chambers of my AR-15 guns because they are larger and work at getting the crud out of the chamber.

Does a great job of cleaning carbon fouling behind star chamber. I was hoping the telescopic handle would have been made out of aluminum, or something other that plastic, but the plastic it is made of is quite durable and for its purpose, all that is needed. It's not like you are going to be torqueing hard on it. The actual piece that attaches to the end of the handle is made of metal, and does a fantastic job of scraping carbon from behind the star chamber. Keep in mind there is some "play" in the fit of my Windham SRC308, but nothing I can't work with. Givin there are different tolerances in star chambers from manufacturer to manufacturer, this was expected. Great tool! Much easier, and more effective than using a chamber brush.
