Berserk Deluxe Volume 1: deluxe edition

bought because i heard it was good so i bought it and it was good and well worth it. first manga I've ever bought and read was a bit difficult to get use to reading right to left but watch some tutorial and once i did that it was a fly what i mean is i was reading it easy.the art of the manga is brought to the extreme and full of life is shoved into the "Oversized pages." its a good collectors item looks nice on shelf and feels nice and leathery but overall it deserves a 5 out of 5 stars i very much enjoyed it I'm glad i bought it and read it I'm bought the secound one now as writing the review story so far good excited to learn more lore of the berserk world.

I ordered this for my partner and it exceeded expectations!! It is by far the nicest book on our shelf. It is large, clear, sleek. I have no complaints!

I bought this (under specific instruction from my great nephew). I was a little cautious about the parental warnings. However the book is a joy to peruse and my nephew was totally engrossed. A well presented book with lovely graphics.

I bought this book for my son after we had a chat people about dyslexia and different ways of reading. My son is 15 and very interested in graphic novels so we gave this one a try. He literally ate the book in 3 days he did not put it down and it is big enough to use as a defence weapon!!! He finds it so hard to read already and the fact that it has lots of pictures to describe story The left-right reading and back to front was very easy for him to follow and for a child that is rarely away from the PlayStation it was so lovely to see him reading again and excited about reading again. The pictures are so well drawn and the quality of the paper and the graphics are undeniable, it's visually perfect. We will continue to buy more from the series because the stories are riveting and my son is reading.

Five Stars doesn't do this justice. No where near. It is no small boast when I say that BERSERK is to Manga and indeed, Comic Books on the whole. What the Lord of the Rings is to English Literature. Yes, this Dark Fantasy, Horror epic IS that significant of a work. The art is probably the best you will ever see for it's particular media (so much detail in certain panels, your eyes will melt out of your face at their complexity), and the writing, story and characterisations are seriously second to none. But despite its awesomeness, BERSERK is NOT for the faint of heart. I doubt you could possibly read any other work that will swing you so wildly from warmth to love to hate to revulsion and beyond disgust. The bad guys are REALLY bad guys. Who wallow in the disgraces of their every desire and it is VERY graphic. Though that said, this "graphic-ness" swings the other way too. Leading to some genuinely well written and beautiful moments. There is no censorship in these Deluxe Editions. Which at times borders on hentai territory (though in all honesty, BERSERK does not contain anywhere near the required amount of tentacles). But if you can stomach your way past all that (which, judging by the recent explosion on a well known Social Media Platform, by everyones favourite politically pivoted, puritanical parasitoids... Some really can't), But IF you can. You will be rewarded with a tale, woven with incredible subtlety, skill and tremendous heart. Experiencing such heartfelt Chapters as "Wounds" & "Cracks in the Blade". Make the journey almost more than worth it all by themselves. Miuras writing prowess for a good story, is seriously off the scale in some parts.BERSERK Deluxe 1 contains the first 3 Volumes and is the introductory phase of this epic, more or less beginning halfway through the timeline of the whole plot. Here we see main character Guts as a vagabond and murderous waster on a road of coldest revenge. Though it isn't until later Volumes where we see how Guts arrives on this road and then how he heals in the aftermath of certain cataclysmic events. Everything in between is pretty much a rollercoaster whirl of violence, rude bits, philosophical waffle and some of the darkest themes ever to (dis)grace the media and not get banned.A stunning body of work of a harrowingly arduous tale about Friendship, Camaraderie, and what not to do when some wisened old hag, offers you a funny looking egg. Just do yourself a favour. Even if you're not a comic book fan. READ THESE BOOKS ! They're just great.

If you're looking to get into the dark fantasy world of Berserk, this is where you should do it.The storytelling is second to none, and because of the larger pages you can see every detail of Miura's artwork.The hardback cover makes this easier to store and is amazing to look at.100/10 manga, you have to read this if you haven't already.

Got here a day earlier than expected, so can't complain and started my journey of this amazing manga. Better than expected, no issues and look forward to buying more. 10/10
