Fresh, tasty, not too salty. I use these for some Thai dishes that I like to make. I keep them in the freezer, though, because they have a pungent smell (nothing wrong with that, on the contrary, but it could impart the smell to other things in the refrigerator.)

My cats usually love dried or frozen treats. In the past, minnows, little shrimps, chicken, salmon- they ate them all, with gusto. I opened these- & they smelled awful. Granted most cat food doesn’t smell good but this was strong & heinous. My girls smelled the open bag & recoiled. I put them out for my 4 cats & all sniffed them walked away. My Molly started to pretend kick kitty litter over it- she does that to tell me she thinks it stinks & will not eat it. Since my 4 cats let them without eating, I put some outside for the stray & feral cats. NONE ate them. Sigh. I wasted $9 & what is usually an exciting & happy time with treat feeding was an utter disappointment. I will not buy these or this brand again. What a waste.

I bought/tried this for the first time for one specific recipe, lol. It was more of a "chewy" type of dry than "crunchy," which admittedly was not what I was expecting. It was pretty salty and the shrimp tasted a little watered down, but I don't think that is anything against this product specifically; that is probably how this is supposed to taste. I liked it and the size was more than enough for my recipe. If you have a cat, you might have to hide these shrimps from them as my cat got into the package and ate the rest of them after I stepped away from them for a few seconds.

I use this Product as a Snack when I have the "salty" need. You don't need much to satisfy! Also I make Ming Kum,which I am sure is not the way to spell it,and this is a Thai appetizer of, finely chopped Fresh ginger,Lemongrass,Red Onion and Crushed Peanuts topped with Sweet Chili Sauce rolled in a Fresh Bibb Lettuce Leaf! OMG! lol I believe it is a handy Item to have in your Larder to put a twist on whatever you want. Oh,if you're on a serious Budget and are on a Top Ramen Diet for a spell,this Dried Shrimp is a Great Topping,adding sustenance to an otherwise no vitamin meal.

Well, shrimp are expensive in general, but these seem especially so. I put a couple of tablespoons into some ramen and they did work to give it flavor.

Tasty, full of flavor. Geat as a snack to enhance a cooked dish or salad
