Complex Analysis and Applications eBook : Jeffrey, Alan: desertcart.co.uk: Kindle Store Review: Firstly I have a lot of Complex Analysis books (including all the required classics) and this is right up there with the best. It is clear, well written and very readable and covers all an undergraduate and 1st year Graduate needs to know and covers applications extremely well. But this is not the point of my review. That point is the Kindle conversion. I have many math books on the Kindle and generally the conversions are vary from poor to very good. Every now and then a formula gets screwed up, some companies do better jobs than others, but it means I pretty much always have a reference/work book available when I'm travelling. I also have a stack of pdf's downloaded from the Web. My reading tool of choice is the iPad 2 (actually it's books but I got sick of carrying lbs and lbs of books) The Kindle conversion is a page by page copy of the book hence the availability limitations. I read it on a iPad and its great, the Fire might be a little small, but it replicates the book exactly. Therefore no mis-coverted formulas or tiny pictures that need to be zoomed. However, you can't change the text size but can zoom in on a page with the text against paper being very clear. So the book (which I also own) gets 5+ stars and the Kindle conversion gets 4 stars (not available on iPhone/iTouch), but the readability more than makes up for that, that's of course assuming you you don't want to read it on a iPhone! Review: The book makes an in-depth treatment of complex integration and conformal mapping. The author handles these subjects more extensively than other books of complex analysis. There is a lot of practice. Each section of each chapter has a set of exercises averaging more than 20 exercises and some of them are classified as "exercises of greater difficulty". At the end of the book there is a solution section of the odd ones. Moreover, each section develops examples. The book is very good; a must have.
