Quirky fun
I got this specifically for my 8 year old son. The premise is fairly easily. You set up a 3x3 grid to play. The judge flips the cards while all other players involved guess higher (predator) or lower (prey). The wild cards give it an interesting level of creativity as well. So we enjoyed seeing those come into play. There's a few confusing moments when we played like getting the "Apex predator/prey" wildcard and you have to guess the next card exactly. But if you have a 13 and you get the apex predator, there is no higher card. So I guess you just lose that pile? The speed is pretty leisure in some instances. You only need speed if you draw the same exact number card or you get the wild card where you have to chase a player. Otherwise, you move at your own pace. The quality of the cards look pretty good but my kids are quickly bending them. They seem like they can withstand some accidental moisture as well. The value for the money is well worth it. I mean, you're essentially paying for a deck of customized cards. But the real value is the game and it's unique rules. I highly recommend it!

Fun Easy And Fast Paced!
This game is an absolute blast! From the very first round, everyone at the table was hooked. The gameplay is fast paced, easy to learn, and full of those hilarious, high energy moments where everyone is trying to react faster than everyone else. What I love most is how quickly the rounds move. There’s almost no downtime, which keeps the excitement going the entire time. It’s one of those rare games that works just as well with family as it does with a group of friends. Kids, teens, and adults can all jump in and start playing within minutes. The mix of instinct, speed, and a little bit of chaos makes every round unpredictable and super entertaining. We ended up playing “just one more round” over and over because it’s that addictive. The set is very well made, making it great for families with little ones who are a touch rougher on the cards and would make a great gift for a little game enthusiast. If you’re looking for a party game that gets people laughing, thinking fast, and fully engaged, Predator vs Prey is a fantastic pick. Highly recommend adding this to your game night lineup!

Fun for kids vs a parent
I ordered this game because it was described as collaborative, and I always like to have my kids work as a team. The game play is simple: one person is the “judge,” who is ostensibly an adversary to everyone else who teams up to beat the judge. In reality, the judge has very little role other than to deal out the cards. But it worked to have me play as judge against my children, who took turns selecting a card in the tableau and predicting whether the next card would be higher (predator) or lower (prey). They win or lose as a team, but otherwise it’s not collaborative, in the sense where they make plans of how one person can help another. Although the game is listed as 8+, my five year old had no trouble with the concept, and honestly, I think she enjoyed it the most. There’s not a lot of strategy to the game, so it is better thought of as luck with a little thought. There are several wild cards in the deck that do add interest to the game, even if not additional strategy. There are a couple wild cards where the judge can have an effect on the game and choose to be helpful or harmful to the other players. When we finished our first game, which the kids won with one pile to spare, my five year old ranked it 5/5 and my seven year old gave it 4 stars. They immediately wanted to play a second round but lost interest after a few turns. The cards are nice quality, about the size of a standard deck. Colors are vibrant, illustrations are amusing.

Not Terrible But There are Better Options
Instructions could be better written. The game has limited strategy. As much of the game play is verbal, playing the game is not conducive to conversation (which is a lot of the point of playing games with children in my opinion). The wild cards require referring to the instructions until they are committed to memory. As such, they slow down the game, and I believe there are too many wild cards for a simple game meant to be played with children. The game isn’t terrible, but I think there are better options.

Fun and Addictive Card Game for Family Nights
My family and I love card games and are always on the lookout for new ones to add to our collection. This game is fast-paced, engaging, and perfect for a lively game night. It was pretty easy to pick up quickly, and we found it quite addictive — we kept wanting to play “just one more round.” The cards themselves are high quality, and the graphics are clear, colorful, and absolutely adorable. My only small critique is that the instructions could be a little clearer. We were a bit confused when we first started playing, but after a few hands, everything started to make much more sense. Overall, this is a fantastic little game for family nights, and it’s also portable enough to take on vacations or cruises. It’s a fun addition to any game collection!

Fun inexpensive and quick card game.
5 stars = love it Really fun game, my 5 year old was able to pickup and play just fine. The quality of the cards are outstanding - the printing is solid, thick, good-feeling cards. The box is also quality - you'll be able to store the game in this for years to come. Nice to find a cheap ($9.99 at time of purchase) game that is quick and easy to pick up for kids, but produced with commercial quality that you would expect to pay more for.
