This should only be used outside. It is food with poison in it. If they eat it inside, they will die inside.

How long does it take for the mouse to die after eating this?

No the mouse goes in through the hole on the side.

Do mice take poison back to nest so other mice eat it and die?

The poisonous bait is inside the mouse station so what I have experienced is that the mouse goes inside the station, eats some of the bait, and then leaves to find water because it has been poisoned. Because the bait is inside the station, they cannot carry the poison bait out with them. I have used these stations for years and continue to be extremely pleased with them.
