LIHAO 36 PCS Bamboo Knitting Needles Set

I have been knitting about 7 years. I consider myself intermediate. I do mostly tiny gauge knitting and these are perfect. Every single size is included. So light, smooth, the tension is perfect. The tips are sharpened to perfection. I am knitting effortlessly with cotton yarn rather than fighting the plies. Surpassed my expectations. Now I have to make sure I don't accidentally sit on any of them because they will break.

Durability: I’ve used them for several weeks now, and they’ve held up quite well. Bamboo is known for being a bit more delicate than metal, so I do handle them with care, but I’ve had no issues with breakage or bending so far. Comfort: I also favor these over the common needles made with aluminum and nickel, which tends to leave my fingers and hands tingling and numb after using for any extended length of time. Downsides: The main drawback is that the needle caps can sometimes feel a little loose or uneven, which could cause minor issues if you’re working on very fine projects. Also, while they’re generally smooth, a few of the needles have a slight roughness on the shaft, which could cause some yarn catching. I am pleasantly surprised to see that each pair are individually wrapped, though I supposed that only makes sense, so you don't have to go through and measure each of the smaller ones to match them because it gets fairly hard to distinguish some of the sizes. If they do become mixed up once they are open, they are conveniently marked with their size in millimeters. They are of nice quality and come exactly as described. While I do not think I could successfully use the very thin needles without breaking them and I would purchase steel knitting needles for those sizes, I don't hold that against this review because, as I said, they came in EXACTLY as they were described on Amazon. Included in the package is a useful little card that has rulers on two (2) of its sides. One side is measured in inches, up to 6, and the other side is in centimeters, up to 15. Down the center of the card, it gives you a list of three (3) different measurements used for knitting needle sizes. It has millimeters (mm), US sizes 0-15 gauge, and a measurement listed as GWR from 00-14 which I am unfamiliar with.

This set of wooden needles is great. So many different sizes to chose from. I like wooden so I am not hearing the clicking of metal needles, and I find the plastic ones a bit slippery.

I was very happy when my order arrived matching the descriptions of good reviews rather than the bad ones. XD I'm a relative newbie to knitting having completed just a scarf and some dishcloths on other wood needles. I needed 10mm (US 15) needles to make a hat and they worked beautifully! Now I'm also using them to make another scarf. I've also used the 4.5mm (US 7) needles to continue making a dishcloth. There are a lot of smaller needle sizes in this set which aren't so great for beginners, but I look forward to using them in the future when I gain more experience. I'm hoping they don't break, but they feel solid enough for now! As long as your knitting tension isn't too tight, you should be fine. I gave this set 4 stars for beginners only because there are so many smaller sizes that might be more difficult for beginners to use at first. I made the mistake of not paying much attention to the length of the needles. I haven't had a problem fitting my stitches on the needle but if you have a larger project, you may want to opt for circular needles. Just take out a ruler and make sure 9" is long enough for your liking. They also may have a little bow in them but it isn't an impediment to your knitting. I love that each needle has its size marked on it and they measure true to size! I would highly recommend these if you're looking for multiple sizes to begin your knitting journey with!

I was surprised at how small they are, wouldn't be suitable for larger Items. Pity really. Limited to what I could use the for. Plus I dislike the feel of them. I have never used them before and it's like chalk on a blackboard. Not sure if I'll get much use out of them.

I like these bamboo needles very much and bought them because they are shorter (10"), they are smooth with no rough spots and are extremely well finished. The package has all needed sizes you would ever need and is excellent when learning to knit. The really small needles might snap if you were rough with them or perhaps were a tight knitter, but they are light in the hands and do the job. The 14" aluminum ones I started with were so long I could not knit comfortably on the couch, this is so much better when learning to knit and are doing smaller projects like hats, mittens and such. You can make a hundred different things with this size needle and save the big needles for a blanket. NanaV
