For me, it starts helping within 30 min. I just take one cap when I start to get a craving for alcohol and it helps me not want so much.

Will it work for withdrawal symptoms from alcohol?

It seems to work somewhat, but mostly it helps to take the "edge off" of withdrawal. Drink plenty of water when taking it as it,seemed to make me dry and thirsty. Your mileage may vary.
