It does what it says it will - pay attention!
Folks, let's be real. This stuff doesn't promise you flowing hair like herbal essences or name your product shampoo featuring oceans of bouncy, shimmering hair. This stuff promises to be gentle on your scalp, your skin, and (maybe) fix scalp/skin issues. It does that. Not only that, but unlike other shampoo, it does not irritate my skin. But let's talk hair. Hair is very finicky. If you want hair like the oceans of bouncy, shimmering hair you see in the commercials, you're going to have to figure out your hair type and use a bunch of products that -- if you're here looking at this product -- your skin isn't going to like. Ladies and gentlemen, you cannot have both. My hair is its own worst enemy; this shampoo was not made for my kind of hair. However, I didn't knock a star off. Know why? It didn't claim to be a fix for my hair woes. It claimed to be kind to my skin woes. And it has.So, if you have finicky hair that needs special products, chances are this one isn't going to do your hair a lot of good. But, if you're suffering from scalp or skin problems (I don't really have scalp problems that this can fix, but my eczema is bad enough that shampoo runoff is damaging to the flareups on my hands and arms and legs), this stuff will let you get through your shower without wanting to peel your skin off from itchiness and pain. Meanwhile, if you have awesome not-finicky hair, this probably won't affect you at all, you lucky goose.Bottom line: it did what it promised, and I love it for that -- but it ain't no miracle product. It won't do more than what it's meant to do. Remember that, and make your choices accordingly.

Exederm combo to save money.
I have eczema and my scalp and would itch like crazy. I bought the exederm shampoo and conditioner it worked great, stopped the itching. The price is the downside of this product so after about a year I switched to baby shampoo and still use exederm conditioner and no itch for less money.

PERFECT FOR CRADLE CAP! Lasts a long time!
Our daughter Hope had cradle cap bad before my brother-in-law suggested this shampoo... WOW! This stuff almost completely eradicated all of her cradle cap. When using, take your time and ensure you're really working the shampoo into the scalp. Once soaked in, we could literally just GENTLY scratch the cradle cap crusties off with just our fingernails. After the shampoo is rinsed out, we use cortizone on the bad spots. We've done a LOT of research into cradle cap and we've bought about 10 different methods (olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, selsum, head and shoulders and even prescription shampoos) before we bought this stuff. This shampoo is a real lifesaver; a bit pricey, but it lasts forever and it's WELL WORTH IT!

Ingredients
Let me crack my knuckles and get into it. Exederm has many things listed on the front. These include: no fragrance. No color or dyes. No parabens. No coal tar or steroids. No sodium lauryl sulfate. No cocamidopropyl betaine. Now these are all good things. However there are a few ingredients that are not so good.I'll start with capryl glycol. Capryl glycol is an absorption enhancer. Not only does it let good things to be absorbed but also bad things. As well as it can cause system toxicity on broken or damaged skin/scalp. Which usually is an issue with eczema and dermatitis. So I am wondering why that's in there. Now you might be wondering about the bad thing that this ingredient helps absorb into the skin. That brings us to Phenoxythenol.Phenoxythenol can cause system toxicity. The FDA also said that it could shut down the central nervous system, vomiting, and contact dermatitis.Look the rest of the ingredients are pretty okay. Although EDTA is kind of a hit or miss. There are many controversies around the ingredient.I used it and it didn't clear up anything as of yet. Although I believe in one of the answers they said it didn't which is kind of weird. It seems pretty gentle otherwise. It didn't dry my hair out. But I also didn't feel like it did too much. I'm not too sure what to think of this product. If something improves I'll report back.

Great for my 2 year old with eczema
My 2.5 year old daughter has Eczema. It breaks my heart to see her scratching. The doctors have not been very helpful with their recommendations. Lately her scalp has been an issue.I saw the Exederm Cleansing Baby Bath 8 oz (237 g) on the shelf at CVS and decided to try it with her nightly baths. It was a blessing. So I decided to try this shampoo. We have been using it for about 3 weeks. So far it has been wonderful. I am so glad I purchased it.I use the Exederm conditioner along with it. I am African American and I would like her hair to have more moisture and the conditioner doesn't seem to do that as much as other products would, but she is not scratching and that is the most important thing for me right now.I must mention that I also use the Organic Root Stimulator Hairepair Vital Oils for Hair and Scalp, 4.3 Ounce on her scalp. I do believe this product used in combination with with Exederm has made the difference. On two occasions she started to scratch and I placed some on this in her hair parts and it calmed her down immediately.I will purchase again.

It didn't work for me
I mean a lot of other factors could have played into why it didn't work. For example, the stress I have from midterms, the humidity of San Francisco air, or the fact that I have a long list of allergies that I tend to never avoid. I'm not saying it's the products fault, but my eczema got worse after using it. Like the oozing spots on my scalp from my eczema and my dry patches got bigger. My itching got worse too.
