Bioluz LED MR16 LED Bulb Dimmable 3000K 50W Halogen Replacement 12 VAC DC GU5.3 Base 400 Lumen 40° Beam Angle UL Listed

This seems like a top quality LED replacement for a standard MR16 halogen bulb. While I'd love to save the energy and the money, I'm returning this bulb because (as some other reviewers have noted) it's noticeably brighter than standard 50w halogen MR16 bulbs, therefore it doesn't match the other nearby bulbs in my ceiling. I'd have to replace them all to assure evenness. Also, the halogen bulbs dim down to about 15 or 20% very smoothly. This LED only dims down to about 50%, so the more I lower the dimmer, the less this bulb matches the others in this install location. The quality of the light was lovely, and the temperature was very similar to my existing bulbs. (My fixtures have OSRAM Decostar 41870 WFLs, for reference.)

Moving from traditional halogen lights to LED in most cases is a good move but in my case, the bookshelf 12volt halogens overall body size is smaller to better fit in the bulb housing as the new led's. These LEDs are bigger overall and bulkier. Be aware that the fit is tight or that this LED may be too big to fit the bulb housing. Revised 10/13/2020 - With a little tweaking on the high hat housing I was able to remove the inner glass cover and make the new lamp fit fairly well. I update to 4 stars

The packaging was adequate. I wasn't sure the bulb work work to replace my single halogen light over our stove. The bulb was slightly longer but fit well and is producing excellent lighting now. The bulb works on our dimmer switch too.

Pretty nice LED bulb at a good price. It doesn't look quite as intense as a real 50W halogen, which is pretty typical with these "X watt replacement" claims that I have seen. It also has a pretty narrow beam without the wider scatter you would get from a halogen. But it is bright and the color temp is pretty close to halogen, not quite as warm. I am using it as an LED replacement in a homemade halogen cycling light, so the vastly reduced power requirements will be great. It has a good amount of throw and will keep the road/trail lit up sufficiently even at speed, so I am happy with it. I hope it lasts.
