Nice idea - Escape the room card games better
It is a very nice concept and a good activity. I would compare to escape the room games in card form, which are more exciting. On the other hand: this book offers more than one case to solve.

perfect for Sherlock Holmes lovers
this book is perfect for Sherlock Holmes lovers. i love its vintage look, the cover, the pictures; the stories are quite entertaining and the price is decent. good for a family or friends to read and try to solve the mysteries together, and have a nice time away from computers or phones. the book came undamaged with was a big relief (well done Amazon).i highly recommend this book.

Suitable Victoriana
A range of easy to 'hmmm' challenges that can be wrangled into Cthulhu by Gaslight scenarios.

Not very varied
I bought this for my teenage daughter who likes solving puzzles and I thought from the pictures that this was a more interactive puzzle book with varied puzzles. However it is more like a reading comprehension mystery so you simply read and try to work out answers from the text.

Sherlock Holmes
Not to be taken too seriously, but a fun enjoyable book all the same.

A serious error in case 6.
The solution given to case 6 is completely wrong. We are told on page 220 that Derry is guilty because he is wearing gloves despite it being a very hot day. However on pages 134-5 it is clear that Derry is NOT wearing gloves. He is fiddling with a ring on his left hand and the diagram on page 135 shows this. However on page 133 it says explicitly that Mason is wearing kid-leather gloves. Therefore it is clear that Mason, not Derry, is the guilty party. A very unfortunate mistake especially in the context and object of the book.
