Great product
Had to drill out a bolt stuck in old cast steel. IMHO these are the best heli-coils you can get. I just wish they would also supply correct the drill bit. Luckily I had one on hand. Otherwise you should also order the proper size bit for the coil size

The standard for thread repair, but pricey.
This is a great kit that includes every thing you need to repair stripped threads, or like in my case, create a strong threaded hole in a soft material (aluminum.) The process is pretty straight forward and can be done with just a hand held drill. I really have only two complaints. First is that the tap is made in China. It worked without issue but this is the main piece needed to make this work. It's not a standard tap size so if it breaks your pretty much starting over. That brings me to issue number 2. Price. These are quite expensive for what you get, especially considering the highest cost item in the kit is made in China. That said, everything worked perfectly.

Worked for stripped starter mount on 1970 Chevy
Truck had a starter mount that was completely stripped out by a previous owner. I had never heard of this kind of system, but read around and gave this one a try. Pricey for one repair, and would be nice if it had come with a drill bit...but it got the job done! Nice to not have to tap for another size bolt or something, just make sure you have a tap set to use this with. Mount feels very solid, starter no longer grinding from being poorly mounted.

good quality for the money
Never did anything like this before on my old Harley so I was wary about taking on this project. Had to tap and insert helicoil in the front cylinder head to repair one engine stabilizer mount. After watching several videos, I did the entire process slowly and carefully and the repair was accomplished successfully. Bolt now tightens to required specs. I'm confident this fix will survive high heat and vibration.
