The sensodyne toothpaste has many varients. Please see before selecting, all are not good. Sensodyne Total Care is capable of curing tooth aches and also works on sensitivity issue just like they show in their adds on TV but lacs in mouth freshness. After 2-3 days consecutive use, you may feel like haven't brushed your teeth properly. So I suggest if you have tooth ache or tooth sensitivity problem, go for it but keep another toothpaste of your choise alongside for mouth freshness and use them both alternatively every 2-3 days or if you brush your teeth both the times i.e. morning- night then you may use sensodyne in night and some other one in morning.

I've tried standard sensitivity toothpastes to help with sharp pain from ice water and hot coffee, but those just temporarily numb the nerve. This Sensodyne formula uses stannous fluoride instead, which actually blocks and seals the tooth. After brushing twice a day for about two weeks, my sensitivity was totally gone. A great trick if you have one specific tooth driving you crazy: just rub a tiny bit of this paste directly onto the spot, leave it for a minute, and rinse. It gives amazing immediate relief. Two quick warnings before you buy, though. The US version of this paste doesn't contain NovaMin (the ingredient the international version uses to remineralize teeth), which is annoying. Also, it contains SLS. That gives it a nice minty foam, but if you're prone to canker sores or mouth ulcers, SLS is a known trigger so you might want to skip it. Otherwise, it's totally worth paying a premium for the small 3.4oz tube just to eat ice cream again.

Product works as indicated

I would not be able to eat a spoonful of ice cream, a cold salad or even pass air over my teeth without Sensodyne toothpaste. This stuff is amazing. If you try anything else but Sensodyne toothpaste, thinking it will take away the pain in your tooth, think again. Don't be fooled. I've tried them all. The only product that works is Sensodyne. Give it a week of using it many times...it's effect is cumulative. Once the product accumulates in the painful places the pain will reduce significantly to absolutely bearable to being gone altogether. Twice I made the HUGE mistakes of trying a different product when on both occassions, all of a sudden after the Sensodne wore off in my teeth a few days to a week later, the pain in my teeth was so unbearable that I was actually seeing sparkly stars. I felt I would need to get all of my teeth pulled out to make the pain go away the last time. It was that awful. I should have learned the first time that nothing but Sensodyne works. But I did not listen to myself. Regretfully, I was curious. I wish I had not been, but I was. I immediately bought more Sensodyne and a new very soft brush and began brushing my teeth several times a day and even rubbing Sensodyne onto my teeth and just letting it be there for a while before rinsing it out. In a few days the pain was relieved enough to not feel panicky about it. By the end of the week the pain was gone and I could eat normally again. I will NEVER jump ship and use another so-called pain relief toothpaste again. The only one that actually works GREAT is Sensodyne.
