effective
Being a severe mold allergy suffer for the last 15 years (since about 26 years old), this product is completely changing my life and giving me my full health again because mold can no longer touch me! All I ask is you people remember that I, unlike most of the doctors out there, had the mercy to let other people in my situation KNOW about this product. The tech behind these makes them very effective against allergens and any molds (> 1 micron) in size (which probably stops almost every mold spore out there). Love it and it should have been available for allergy sufferers - 15 years ago and not just recently. They do look a bit silly but you can always take them out. Also, humidity will shorten the life of the filters from 4-5 days to 1-2 days. Avoid humidity / bath / shower etc. and take them out if you want them to last more days. The plastic clips that hold the filters in are bit too small...it would be good if Woody makes them a little bigger as I've had some filters fall out. However, the filter STOPS mold spores up to 99%. I've not had a single problem with sinus allergies (not a single sinus infection) since I started this product, and before, I had chronic problems for last 15 years, sinus surgery and infections nearly continually from my allergy to MOLD SPORES. Not a single DOCTOR out there nor allergist ever mentioned to me nor recommended buying a HEPA filter, let alone NOSE filters - instead they make you take allergy meds and nasal sprays for years on end continually--that do not solve the problem and who knows what these things do to your liver and health overall.... Doctors will mention (on rare occasion) using salt water to clean your nose. This is usually helpful, but this sometimes can cause infections - even if the water is boiled - because the water can stay trapped in your sinuses/nose causing issues. Remember that I have informed you of how to fix your mold/sinus allergies, and I'll be content to know that people out there like me will not go through what I did because of this review. Update (new model) : The new model is better when it comes to breathing and doesn't show as much on my face (clear plastic is much better than pink). But they are harder to get into the nasal passage, especially if you have deviated septum (and many people do). I wasted about 4 pairs of filters and an hour the first time, before I finally got it in right. Hopefully I've figured it out now.

Upgrade is no good.
Update 3: Downgrading my review as I have not had any luck getting the redesign to work. I am reusing the old style holders and was able to find someone who still had the filter material for sale so bought several batches of that. When they are used up, I don't know what I will do. The old version of this was the best thing to ever happen for my allergies and I am so very disappointed in this product now. The old adage is true: It wasn't broken, and they shouldn't have "fixed" it. Update 2: I'm sorry to say that the updated version of this product is not working very well for me (size IIIS). The problem is that the new style filters don't fit inside the holders very well. They buckle at the middle with the retainers in, and the result is a large gap where unfiltered air pours in. My nose has been running all day with these in. If the filters were a little bit larger than the holders this might not happen. Before I give up on these I will try going one size larger with the filters. Fortunately I did buy several sets of the older version when I heard they were redesigning these. For now I will use those. Downgrading my review to three stars from five. I truly loved this product and if the larger filter doesn't work I do not know what I will do. Update: After about a week, I started thinking these were slipping around a bit too much so I ordered a size larger. Got them tonight and they are so much more comfortable. Recommend trying the next size up if you can't get comfortable in your first set. Review: I have many environmental allergies, ranging from all sorts of pollen to dog and cat dander, dust mites and alternaria mold. When I was finally allergy tested a few years ago, I lit up like a Christmas tree. I have suffered from chronic fatigue, headaches, chronic sinusitis and so forth my whole life. Almost every day I wake up feeling sluggish and disoriented, with swelling in my hands and face, sometimes finding it impossible to fully awaken or even get out of bed. I never felt like sleep was restorative, just something I never felt like I could get enough of. This was my "normal" for many years and though I was practically debilitated on some days from fatigue, no one could ever say why. After the allergy testing I recognized that I was probably "allergy-sick," but the number of allergens I react to is so large I would have to live in a bubble to avoid them all, or so I thought. I've pretty much given up on reducing environmental allergens in my home because, truthfully, there is no way I can avoid everything, so there's little point. I wore masks at home and lived with it. Then I discovered nasal filters. I've tried a couple of kinds, and these are the best so far. Bought them last week, have been using them for four and a half days, as I write this, and each day I have woken up clear, with energy, and ready for the day. The pros: Better than a face mask, because there are no gaps. I used to wear a procedure mask at night, but often I would remove it while asleep, or the gaps would allow too much air in through the sides. Unlike the Nosk filters, the Woody Knows is comfortable enough to wear all night. And I wake up clear. The flexible frame fits the form of your nose well, and the joining piece, while visible, is not obvious. Yes, I can feel that it is there, but it is not too bothersome. The cons: The filtration is very good, but you need to check these periodically. Hold them up to the light and look for gaps; you may find you have to reposition the filter foam occasionally. Also, yesterday a filter foam fell out of one side and I did not notice, so had exposure for a bit; I am not sure how long. Another problem is that they can chafe the inside of the nose a bit-- a little lotion or vaseline fixes that. I'd love for them to be a bit more comfortable, but I'm not sure how that could be accomplished. They are certainly the best of the lot so far. One other issue is the price of replacement filters. I will try to clean and reuse as much as I can, and I'll eat the cost if these continue to work, but I sure do wish they were less expensive or that a permanent nano filter could be available. The "ultra breathable" ones filter so much less, and that just won't cut it for me. Finally, blowing my nose is now a Major Production. My nose still runs sometimes, and that means I need to remove these and blow a few times a day. However, that's not horrible and I hope it will gradually abate as my allergies continue to improve. The scoop: You need to give yourself a few days with these. The systemic allergic reaction has tapered down gradually, which means that my nose was still irritated for the first few days, and I used a Neti pot (and still do) to help clear out those passages and keep them clear. I am still using the Flonase and I still take a zyrtec each day, but I feel like the combination of these things is actually accomplishing a lot, as opposed to feeling like nothing was working, as I did before. Each day seems a bit better. The big test is yet to come-- my mold allergies usually cause the worst of my symptoms, and those kick in when it's rainy. I haven't had that test yet, but I have increasing confidence in this product with each passing day.

They work! true allergy relief
I first bought the II-R size and they were small for me. Then I ordered the III-R size and now I get a good seal around my nostrils. I tried the super breathable one and the II-R size fit me right but these ones are a little bit smaller than the super breathable counterparts. I'm very happy with the results I'm getting. I can really tell the difference while wearing these. My only complain is that these have sharp edges around the openings and they irritate your nose. The edges are specially troublesome when you pull the filters out your nose. The sharp edges will dig into your skin and cause pain. However, I trimmed the edges with a scissor and that fixed the problem. Getting the right size is extremely important and might be the difference between allergy relief or not. I'm still not sure if I should try the III-S size, depending on the dimensions they might fit me even better. The II-R size were good for me width wise but a little short length wise. I thought the III-R size would have the same width but longer length, however it is bigger both ways. It would be helpful if there is a picture with all the sizes side by side. The provided size guidelines are helpful for first time buyers but if you already experimented with a size and want to know how different the others are, there is no information to go on with. Please show a size comparison for those of us that want to get the best fit possible. I will appreciate it very much All in all, they work very well. I tried other designs sold on amazon and these are the best, both in price and performance. They have given me relief from dust mite allergies and prevented congestion. Pros: -Reasonably priced -Very breathable, not as much as the super breathable ones though -They just work, true allergy relief -Shipping was extremely fast Cons: -Sharp edges -I'm not sure how the other sizes compare to the one I have Even though I have complaints, this is still a solid 5 star product. There is nothing (from what I could find) that compares to these. Great product, and I trust Woody will only make them better in the future.

could stand to be more durable
As I've gotten older, I've developed allergies to various things like pollen, pet dander, dust, etc. I take an allergy pill daily and use nasal spray when I can feel 'tingles' in my nose. But then, my husband suggested I find something to put *in* my nose. At first I didn't like the idea because I didn't want to have to do yet another thing to prevent allergy migraines (can go on for hours, even days, until I sneeze and get the allergies out) but then I decided, what the heck, and began looking. I came across this product and first ordered the first-time buyer recommended multi-size pack to find out if I needed a Small, Medium, Large or X-Large. I was able to use the Small, until the bridge of the frame broke, and used the Medium.. until the bridge of the frame broke. Two months later, I bought a 3 pack of the Medium. Three months later now and I'm on my last frame because once again 2 frames broke in three months. So--- Pros: - The filters really do a fantastic job of filtering out allergens and are quite breathable (I've definitely gotten used to wearing them) - They don't bother you too much/you can't really tell they are there - The filters, for a 24 pack (that I recently got) are an incredible value of only about $.70 each Cons: - They don't seem to hold up too well to constant, and I mean CONSTANT use. I wear one all day, every day except for when I'm sleeping at night - The most effective way of removing them is by pulling on the bridge of the frame- not helpful Overall, I just wish these were built more durable for more than just/possibly occasional use. Though, granted, I realize that that could possibly interfere with the comfort-ability of the product. Though, given the fact that they are pretty stiff when brand new and eventually 'loosen' up, I don't think it'd be too much of a problem. Especially if you had to trade comfort-ability for durability. I, for one whose nose/skin is slightly irritated from its initial stiff state, would gladly make the trade.

Fine filtration. I have bad sinus allergies in springs ...
Works under conditions. Needs improvements. Pros: 1. Fine filtration. I have bad sinus allergies in springs and these are effective in this aspect. 2. Good breathability when rest. They are not hard to breathe through if you don't do much physical job. 3. Invisibility. You are self conscious about these, but others can barely tell, especially when they are not up close. Cons: (why it's 3 star) 1. You have to get the right size and shape. I tried a IIIS and a IIR. II R works well, but IIIS is a total blocker. Now remaining 5 sets IIIS are just a big waste of money. I understand that it is not easy to guide people to find the right size and shape. But at least have a trial pack or something. 3 dollars a pair is not cheap! 2. Had to work to position them to the correct spots. It took me a while to find the magic position for them to work. A slight deviation from THE spots would turn them into nose clogs. 3. I have deviated septum, more into the left nostril. The left filter has to go round a little bump to be in correct position, and the bridge between the two filters are just not long enough. So you either get one perfect breathing nostril with the other clogged, or you get two somewhat breathable nostrils. 4. Some people say that they can go and exercise with these on. My experience is NO. I guess the reasons are in con#3. You can't do cardio when you can't get enough O2. Overall, it's a great idea. Hope the company can make some improvements.

Wow, so glad to have found these!
I have had 3 sinus surgeries so I'm very familiar with all the products one can use for sinus help. When I found out about nose filters, I tried out 4 different types and brands, 2 thick filter types and 2 thin filter types. I was seeking any kind of sinus help but really wanted something for dust, pollution and cigarette smoke. For the thicker type filter, these were the most breathable and the most comfortable! (ie-I can kind of forget that I'm wearing them) I live in a major metro area near a busy street, in the summer time we have to have the windows open and consequently end up breathing so much dust, pollution, etc. It is amazing when I wear these!! The air is easier to breathe and my sinuses and lungs feel more clear...and the reason I know they work? When I take them off I can smell a burnt smell in the air (it smells terrible but I re-acclimate to it after a few minutes), which of course makes me never want to take them off! What to expect: These are super at filtering what they advertise - dust, pollen, dander, mold, germs and pollution. I have noticed some strong smells still get through, such as perfume and sometimes other types of fumes. I did some studying and it looks like the PM 2.5 filtering media will block some cigarette smoke (depends on the size of the cigarette smoke particle size.) When I wore them into a cigarette smoky environment, I did get more help than if I had not worn them at all. I found the filters very easy to change out. However, as some have stated they can be affected by moisture and the more moist air you breathe on them, the more they need to be changed. Also, at first I didn't have them pushed all the way in...then realized the band between the two filters should be pushed up against the septum (as they show above). After I did that, it made a big difference in breath-ability. I agree with the other reviewer that says it's a shame that sinus sufferers and their doctors don't all know about these! I think they would be exceptionally helpful for empty nose syndrome sufferers also. Good luck and good health.

Nope, not endorced.
Not at all comfortable, needs a more flexible material. Also not enough air flow to maintain normal breathing.

Best thing so far to relieve your airway
I purchased this and forgot about it. Then came across them again and decided to try them one night. I have problems breathing at night while I sleep which cause me to snore. I have not been medically diagnosed for sleep apnea or a deviated septum, but I know I have one or both. I have been researching ways to open up my airway and relieve the stress on my breathing while I sleep. My husband says I have been snoring really loud lately and so I think that alone is diagnosis for either airway problem – sleep apnea or deviated septum. This has been a great inexpensive way to aid in opening up my airway while I sleep. Good news, the first night I tried this it worked very well. I know it is for daily usage, but this is uncomfortable to use during the day. So I decided to try it at night and see what happens. To my surprise it worked very well, I wake up refreshed and with clear sinuses. So I ventured into purchasing the WoodyKnows Nasal Dilators, this did not work as well. I think maybe sizing might be the issue. I ordered small as the medium round in the WoodyKnows Super Defense was a little uncomfortable. So I went back to using the WoodyKnows Super Defense, I’m thinking of trying the WoodyKnows Ultra Breathable but I’ll wait. I think the way the WoodyKnows Super Defense opens up my nasal passage is why I am able to breathe easier at night with the addition of the Nano Filter, the only down fall is I have to buy more filters. But in summary, I am very happy with this product and suggest you try it if you have similar symptoms.
