Great drone synth
Great little drone synth, easy to use, no menu diving. Great value for money and seems to be well made.

Wonderful Synth, with one 'niggle'.
I have many good things to say about this wonderful little synth, - and one 'not so good' (and fairly severe), niggle. The Good:- It's design. It's a knob twiddler's delight.. (oooh-err missus). The two oscillators, sub-oscillator and filters are combined with a delay, and a reverb, they accept CV control (ask a geek..), and can produce anything from Krell music (ask a scifi nerd), to explosions and atmospheres, or just noise to annoy your neighbors with. It's fun and infinitely flexible. It's portable. Six AA batteries and you're off, just shove it in your backpack, with some headphones and off you go. It's expandable, - well, sorta... Stylophone have just released the CPM DF-8 Dynamic Multi-filter which paired with the DS-2, vastly expands the scope of the soundscapes that you can produce with it. Unfortunately, there is a niggle.. and it was one that very nearly had me sending this back for repair, or refund... I turned the unit on one morning intending to twiddle to my hearts delight.. and drone 1, - (the first oscillator) was not working. No output whatsoever, dead. - Kaput. No amount of twiddling, or reasoned debugging would entice it to even squeak. Until, just as I was resigned to packing it back up, I happened to knock the High pass/Low pass filter switch and heard a loud crackle. Sure enough, with a lot of frenzied switching, the unit burst back into life. So it's either a faulty switch, - or a 'not very high quality' switch that caused the issue. (And there are 12 of them in the device...). My wee little synth is now working again, but every now and again I do notice odd crackling sounds and 'odd' behaviour from the synth that suggest that these switches, (..or just that one switch), are to blame. (Twiddling each in turn always clears the 'fault' ). So as much as I love the concept, and execution of this delightful device, I'm left doubting the quality of, - at the very least, - one of the switches used. ...Hence the 3 star rating. Sorry Stylophone, I really wanted to give 5 stars, but this almost had me returning it.

Well well...a drone synth in my collection now, this is what i missed :) This one delivers, the looks, the sound. Comes in black and instantly gives you deep plack grunge sounds. Twist the controllers, plug the wires, you will never end to explore all the possibilities this machine gives in your hands. Well, think complex simply :) Thanks to batteries and build - in speaker, you can use it everywhere. It comes with 6 AA batteries, some cables (black and grey) to connect the sections between, a bracket to fix a second device on the side, a diagram for explaining how to use. Unfortunately no power - supply (mostly to blame EU for this). Technical details see manufacturer page. Do it, you will be amazed on the specs. For who is this thing? For synth adepts, for sound gurus, for serious musicians, but also for, maybe everyone... Enough written, back to the knobs to play with. From me, well deserved 5 stars. Update: support is fast and helpful, thanks. Advice for future products: pls. use matt finish. Please add OLED Display for values and more.

Simulatore audio di viaggi spaziali, magnifico ti fà navigare con l'immaginazione. Synth o forse sarebbe meglio chiamare generatore di oscillatori con molteplici possibilità.

This is just a fun little gadget. I have had hours of fun with this and it mixes very well with my other instruments. The build quality is sound and the user interface is simple. The price point is nice also. Its size makes it portable and battery life is also great. From head phones to monitors it sounds great. The built in speaker could be a little clearer and louder but that is my only con.

What can I say. Love this little drone maker. Great sound Easy to use (never though I would say that about a syntn). Only regret is did not get i when it first came out a year of more fun and some cost savings. Still worth the money.
