Works just fine
Using it for 422, no problems, only gave it 4 stars since the driver install did not go perfectly the first time. It seems to be a bit over priced for a USB serial converter. Bought another one after 5 years, someone has walked off with the one I had originally. When other RS422 adapters fail to work, this one works. No driver needed on Windows 7.

NOT RS485 2 wire compliant
I will keep this for the next time I may need RS422. But it seems all FTDI FT232RL Chipset converters have missed the boat on RS485 2 wire communication. RS485 can be 2 wire or 4 wire (RS422). The ground is optional in both cases. There is no voltage or signal between D- and D+. There is a voltage difference to ground, but that is completely useless with 2 wires.

Never got it work correctly
It's entirely possible that I'm doing something wrong, but I never did get this working properly with the hardware I was trying to connect it to.

This unit was a bit more than some others but it came recommended and it works fine. The current (as of this writing) description says RS-422. Don't buy this if you need RS-485 and if you do don't leave a bad review because you purchased the wrong product.

Buen cable
Es un poco caro para el cable que es, he comprado dos porque alguien los toma. Es bueno, la instalación del driver no me dio problemas, yo lo utilice para conexión RS485 y todo muy bien. Hay otras opciones a mitad de precio que también funcionan

Best USB Modbus converter
The devices drivers are recognized by Windows 10/11 operation system. For better convenience I bought two cables and DB9 female to female adapter. That allow me to test connections by running Modbus Slave on one serial port and Master on other one.
