It is not hard to do yourself. There is dedicated website with videos how to do it yourself and all tools and materials are provided in the box. The new shell itself is nice to the touch and good looking. Would recommend.

The elite controller from xbox is a joke and RB is prone to not working. The old case started falling to bit and was going to get a new controller. I thought I'd give this a try before moving on but very surprised that this new case, once together works amazing. I kept the original buttons and fitted perfectly. Highly recommend trying this out before retiring your xbox controller

Took me a little while to assemble it but once on it completely restored my crumbling Elite controller back to full functionality and the quality of the finish is excellent. Highly recommended. One thing to note though the video isnt super clear about how to install the trigger throw distance piece, look very closely at the back half of the controller case and you'll you need to insert it under a flap that can be hard to see with the transparent case. Overall though excellent product highly recommended

Overall a very nice shell, although the tolerances for the ABXY buttons could have been better. I had to replace mine as the A button wasn't working very well with this button

Bought this shell as the Rubber Grips on my Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 had came off and I was having issues with the Bumpers. (While you have the shell off, spray the bumper buttons with some WD40 or Isopropyl Alcohol) Has issues with the installation of the Hair Trigger switch, as the video didn't clearly show that the piece needed to slide under another piece of plastic, however the rest of the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I never used the provided purple XYAB buttons, triggers or bumpers due to aesthetic reasons, but the new shell looks great and feels comfortable in my hands. You may want to look into purchasing a replacement battery as many controllers have had issues with bulging batteries, and you could easily replace this too while replacing the shell.

Great value for money, gave a new lease on life to my Halo Infinite Limited Edition Elite 2 Controller who's grips where peeling away due to expanding and glue failure, which also had cracked the plastic casing. Only replaced the necessary parts (shell and internal magnets etc) keeping the original triggers and buttons. Impressed with how it turned out. Was straightforward and relatively easy to do the swap with the helpful YouTube video eXtremeRate has created and the fact all the necessary tools and spare parts (screws) are included makes life so much easier and provides peace of mind as the small internal screws are easy to loose. Would also recommend ordering a new internal battery prior to beginning if repairing an old controller as my battery was slightly swollen and had to delay my repair until a new unit arrived. Completely satisfied with how my controller turned out, hopefully quality is as good as it looks and feels. Will update if any issues arise (hopefully not).

Fits and works grate

Easy instructions to follow, but the face buttons (A,B,X,Y) did not work at all, and felt like they were stuck in no matter how many times I took it apart and back together, however putting the Original face buttons back in it works, The slider that controls how far the trigger slides in also does not work, which isn't ideal but I'm just glad the controller still works and retains it's functionality Overall looks kinda of nice

Great quality case that has all the screws and tools you need. I've bought cheap cases twice for my Series 2 and decided to try something more premium. Both of my old cases cracked. Quality and fit of thsi shell are on point. Make sure you use the included screws as not only will the color look better, but I think the screws are a different size for the case. They kept getting loose on the triggers so I had to swap out the screws to the new ones. Instructions online are good but I watched a video guide.
