A great resource for more advanced fusing techniques
This book has a lot of detailed information on fusing - maybe enough that it would be overwhelming for a beginner - and is a great resource. It also has an abundance of images to illustrate techniques, which is very helpful. It's a great addition to a glass fuser's library.

but over all filled with good information. I would like to see a little ...
A little bit repetitious and rambling in areas, but over all filled with good information. I would like to see a little more detail on techniques and less verbose dialog leading up doing the actual work. Over all a very good book.

Information packed!
This book is a wonderful reference! It is an information packed book surveying many techniques for kiln working glass including fusing/slumping, basic kiln casting, lost wax casting, mold making, cold working, and more. It has plenty of detailed instructions on techniques with wonderful reference photos (including both artwork examples and in-process reference photos) followed up by efficient, step-by-step project outlines to take the reader through the techniques, where applicable. The author includes LOTS of firing schedules! They are in Centigrade - but there is a Fahrenheit conversion chart included in the book - yet another reflection on the thoroughness of the author. (Thank you!) Most firing schedules are for COE 90 (Bullseye) glass. She also includes a succinct list of Spectrum (COE 96) fusing schedules and a chart for casting with Gaffer glass. There are a couple of float glass projects with corresponding firing schedules as well.I would rate myself as in intermediate glass artist. My feeling is that there is enough information on any covered technique for me to feel confident enough to dive into it! I am inspired by the wide array of techniques covered in this book and am looking forward to some exploring!

Beatiful and inspirational
This is a lovely book you will read and re-read. Not only does it clearly cover basic techniques (including programming your kiln) in a clear and concise way but it is full of lovely photography of stunning glass art to inspire you to the next level. Mine is well thumbed already and I'm only just scratching the surface.

Super book but not for novice
This is a very detailed book in all respects of kiln fired glass but as a newcomer it is too advanced for me. I need the basics for starting up.

Kiln formed glass
This is my favourite book on kiln forming and casting, love it! practical guidance on projects and firing schedules, mould mixes, so useful. One thing as a reality check for a practical skill like this the very first step before the books is to go on a weekend course to practice with a experienced glass maker then start experimenting and reading!
