Product seemed great.. well built and sturdy. My complaint is not on the product itself but by the time response on the saferacks team.So I bought this thinking that it would be easy to install... i’m 5’ nothing so had my sons dad come and help me... well we couldn’t find the studs so i requested a return. During this time i had also messaged them to see if they had an installation process through them, Turns out they did. Their response was pretty quick at first idk if it was due to the return request. Anyways so this was around the 7th, 9th and 10th that we were talking. So I was asked on the 15th what time on the 18th they would be able to call me (all this was by email so didn’t see it til the 20th) by this time i’m on a time crunch since I had also requested a return and it was due by feb2) I had given them my number to call me but since 2 days had passed with no call. I just told them if I wasn’t able to schedule anything for the coming week I would continue with my return. At this point it had been almost a month that I was trying to get info and to schedule... So if you are still reading this.... make sure you know what you are doing and if you do not... buy the installation at the same time as your purchase. I’m sure this would have been a great product since it was great quality. I’m thinking once I get my money back from the return i’m going to purchase it with installation to not deal with the headache.

Give yourself 3-6 hours to install this one. Having a friend would make this much easier. Take your time orienting the pieces and it will save you a lot of time. It took me 4 hours by myself. I did mess up a few times and had to reposition the rack by 1 inch away from the chain that drives the garage door. I also messed up when mounting the vertical extension a few times. All in all this can be done by yourself in about 3 hours if you do not mess anything up. Instructions are accurate and can be trusted when installing, do reference them for measurements! I already ordered a second one for the right side. This is a great storage kit that comes with everything you need, just make sure you do your measurements correctly, although it does come with very short vertical brackets, I think it will fit any garage. I did a few pull ups once it was installed and that thing seemed solid so I did not hesitate to start throwing some of my less used items up there and its been 100% solid ever sense. If you are on the fence, don't be - this is a good product at a great price!

This is a great rack for the price. Just go in understanding you’re going to spend several hours, specially, trying to mark and lineup the drill holes properly on the ceiling. As many other suggested, having someone around to help you get the pieces up onto the ceiling and attached is very helpful once you’re through the pain of assembly however it’s so great to have the extra free space available.

This product is very sturdy and has an excellent coating. I would have given 5 stars but there were two issues. 1. NONE of the holes in ceiling brackets line up for 16" on center. 2. The directions state to place the ceiling brackets 48.5" apart (this makes the side rails bow and hard to tap into place). They need to be 48" apart. I was able to make adjustments for both and all was well.

High quality. Having a tandem motor drill (two 3 amp motors) with a hex driver helped these old hands make relatively easy work of the installation. Helped to have a second person briefly hold up one end of the eight foot rails; otherwise it's a one person job.Before you start the install, make sure of the spacing of your joists. In our case, most are spaced at 16", but critically one is at 18 1/2", apparently to support a load bearing wall.The "floor" of this unit is designed to be held in place by gravity, but I secured it to the frame with plastic cable ties.

First I want to say that the installation depends on your situation. My garage was a pain and the studs changed direction. But that being said it really has nothing to do with the purchase of the rack itself. This is the second one I bought. I needed more storage in my garage. These overhead racks are amazing in my opinion. I got everything off my garage floor and organized the way I like. If I ever need more storage I will buy another one for sure. Just a tip the first time i didn't pay attention to the length for the down bars. So the first set I had to cut so nothing hung low enough to hit my head on. Second time I saw the sizes and ordered the shortest one. They were perfect.

Is very sturdy but a little difficult to install with one person. I tried to call the company to pay for installation but could never get through. Still it looks good and works well!

I installed this by myself above my garage door. It was not very difficult to install, except the ceiling beams in my garage are different then described in the instructions. I have beams that are 4' apart. Fortunately, that was exactly what was called for so I was able to adjust the installation a little to make it work. I will see if I can add pictures later. Works great for holding hurricane panels and extra boxes etc to give me more room in my garage.
