Etac Clean Narrow Rolling Shower Commode Chair for Elderly, 19.25 in

This is the best combination shower/potty chair out there. It is costly but has been invaluable during my spouse's recuperation. Best advice is to get the adjustable height model because, unknown to me, different handicapped toilets can be different heights. Also, spend the extra money and get the soft cover made for the chair as well.

Saved my back, time and aggravation of showering an 80+ parent. I bought my used 1st generation Etac at a discounted price but would have gladly paid full price. It's comfortable for the person being showered with removable arm rests as well as upper and lower seat belts to hold the person in place if necessary. The adjustable foot rest keeps feet well above the water and the high end wheels make it easy to move and position the entire chair with minimal effort. The opening at the bottom allows for easy rinsing of genital areas and the back of the chair has slits for easy rinsing from behind. Finally, the difference between my 1 version Etac and the current model is that latter can be height adjusted. My Etac cannot be lowered or raised. Still, it fits easily over the toilet. I highly recommend this chair!

I had this chair for a month. It is well-made, sturdy chair. Roll-over carpet easily. I would have given it 5-stars until the chair tipped over with my husband in it. Had to called 911 and get him checked our in the ER. Afterward I tested out the chair and it does tend to tip over when you lean to one side.

The design is very uncomfortable, no thought was given on the person using it.. i have ALS and I can not sit straight up in this chair, I’m always hunched over, very uncomfortable. In the shower or on the commode. My husband checked it out to see what the problem was, he was even uncomfortable using it. Very poor design.

I have a disabled family member. He's had shower chairs that broke, were unstable, were hard to clean. We had to replace them every couple of years ($$$). This Etac shower chair has exceeded expectations! It's well designed, easy to clean, very stable. Best of all, we've been using it over 10 years now and it's still as solid as ever. I do recommend buying the seat & back pads that make the chair more comfortable.

If you are looking for a shower chair and/or commode and only want to buy one - ever - this is the one you should look at. Plenty of accessories to customize it to your personal needs. Will never rust, rolls easily, even in circles, retractable foot rest that keeps your feet off the floor and adjusts to the length needed. I would however, google this chair. There are a lot better prices out there. I have had to buy 3 wheeled shower chairs in 3 years as the brakes, casters etc quit working and rusted. That won't happen with this one, well worth the money.
