Pennington Seed 8.3lb Sun/Shad Seed Mix

I have tried a number of different products. Last fall, I started using this product last fall to fill in bare spots and also to replant in two 30sf areas I used to have raised beds on. I actually ripped the bag on accident and some of this product fell out onto the ground. I picked up what I could and spread it where I wanted it in the first place and everywhere this product was used grew nice new grass, very lush looking. This spring, the grass made it through a very mild winter and looks great. I purchased more of this and laid it down a week ago. I know I will have to be more attentive going into the summer than I was last fall, but I am optimistic that this Pennington product will deliver based on the results from the previous batch.

I am picky about these kind of products. However the result was fantastic. 95% growth or more !

As usual plant in fall or spring and keep moist. Germinates within a week. Does not not sprout and die. Once it germinates it just keeps growing. Excellent for dead spots ..sun, or shade or mix it WILL grow. Will not back tolerates heat well IF you keep your grass at lest 1.5 inches. Height promotes root growth. Deep roots helps grass survive dry season. My lot is about 1/3 acre so I NEVER water. Live in central Illinois. Always have dry summer and grass goes dormant and looks like its about to die. First rain brings it back to life. GOT BARE SPOTS? BUY THIS! I have used it for 4 years.

Eh split on this review. Some small patches worked but other small and bigger areas did not ever with watering and maintaining. Only big difference is the other areas were in direct sunlight majority of the day so maybe this isn't the greatest for those types of areas.

Had some orange spots on my grass I went through the expense of putting sod this year I had some yellow orange dry spots I added this down just kept it damp gave it some love and it’s growing grass it looks beautiful I’m very pleased with this product.

Planted this grass seed over 2 weeks ago, followed the directions to the letter and even watered it in with no success, just checked it this afternoon 5/2/2020 and not one sprout of grass to be found, so consumers run the other way and do not buy this, your just wasting your time and money.

This stuff is boss! I put a little bit of soil down. Sprinkled this stuff on top. After watering for 5 days grass is already growing in sharply! I may have to order another bag for other spots.

I have tried other brands of grass seeds to repair/grow bald spots on my lawn, no luck. However, Pennington worked great. I saw results in 2 weeks. My only issue is the price of a small bag, it is a little expensive.
