Bluetooth 5.3 FM Transmitter Car Adapter

Best quality, but high price

I received this device free to review for Sonru as a frequent customer. I still wanted to do an honest review so I used the device for a month to get a better picture of the build quality. Charger options: I used the device to charge an iPad, an iPhone, and an Android phone. Rapid charging was available thru 3 of the 4 ports. (The blue colored USB-A port is meant to have a thumb drive inserted to play music. It still charges, just not rapidly). When my wife and I were together we had two phones and iPad plugged in and all worked fine, but usually it was just 1 or 2 devices. The device charges as fast as plugged into the wall. 5-stars for the charging features! Hands-free device: Plug the device into the power (lighter) outlet, and press the button on the face. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair to the device. You conmected your phone to the device. Now to connect the device to your vehicle. Find an FM frequency on your radio that is not being used commercially. Again press and hold the button until the FM radio frequency flashes. Turn the button to match the frequency on your FM radio. NOW, what happens on your phone will be transmitted thru your radio speakers! There is a Bass button on the side, which helps with the music playing. The other side button changes the light colors, and turns it off should you not want them on. Remember you can turn up the transmitted volume with the button on the front during a call or while the phone is playing. Need more volume still. Turn up the dial on your radio for even more. It plays very loud for me! The microphone on the device picks up just fine for most calls. If you play a youtube video, the sound comes out of your radio speakers. There is a lag time of about 1/2 second, if you are watching (not for the driver), but for podcasts, and music it is unnoticed. Sound quality during calls were extremely good within cellular limits. The improved Bluetooth connectivity really helps. I also know that sometimes changing the FM frequency can help also. When cellular signal was strong, so was the sound. The built-in microphone sounds as good as the built in microphone on our Hondas' hands-free links. As a hands-free device: 5-stars, after set-up. The instructions given in the owners manual are clear, but there are videos just above the reviews which easily show how to connect and use. OVERALL: A great device and a bargain. The charging features alone are worth the price, but the hands-free options seal the deal. So far the device has held up well, in colder weather. Thinking of more devices for our other car and as gifts for our kids! Highly recommended!

Bought this in conjuction with the Miracase vent mount phone holder and the functionality of both together make my older vehicle as easy to use bluetooth as a built in new car integration. Plugged in securely to my power recepticle on my old Volvo's console and works very well. Phone functionality is excellent and bluetooth with music is clear and works flawlessly. The bass boost button on the side actually suprised me with its utility. When turned on, it enhances music but when I want it less intrusive and dialog to be clear in phone use, it is easy and effective. The hookup is as easy as finding any open frequency on your radio and setting a preset. Almost zero interference or crossover noise. The microphone works well for voice conversations, no complaints from listeners. Looks nice also.

Other reviewers have had sound quality issues, or have had to try several frequencies. I have not had those issues, but the sound is mono rather than stereo. Music quality will be degraded by transforming from digital to analog, compressing to mono, being broadcast and received, and then transformed back into a digital signal for your car's surround sound speakers. Voices and other types of content are fine and music is what it is. The other thing to note is that this is a fairly large unit. Make sure your outlet has enough clearance.

PROS EXCELLENT CHARGER. It quickly did its main job of charging my cellphone. Extremely impressive. Thinking of buying these for birthday/holiday presents. It looks great, modern and simple to understand. Nice matte green finish. Fits right in with my car's interior. Paired immediately with my phone. Clear instructions with pictures. Impressed that instructions are included right on the Amazon page in case I ever misplace the booklet. Always nice to have before someone buys an electronic product like this. Besides being my default charger, I plan to use it for taking phone calls and listening to audio books. I love that it uses so many different music formats. With Amazon Prime, I have 1,000s of songs on my playlist BUT do not like relying on my phones tiny speaker. This is truly a game changer since my car does not have Bluetooth. This will be my only phone charger for the car from now on. It will take my music, audio books, and phone call to a whole new level. Voltage Detection is a great, very important feature to me. Glad to have it. 54W is amazing. Do not believe I have had anything as powerful in a car charger. CON Minor "gripe" is that the plug is a little too short for my car (Lip in front of car outlet. See photo.) so I have to use an extender (Bought on Amazon) . Nice if the next version's plug is a bit longer so I do not have to use an adapter. Not sure why GM did that. Blame GM, not Sonru. ---- Overall, a fantastic device with many wonderful features in a small package. Highly recommended. I love it.

Worked great for the first 10 months, fairly loud, good audio, almost exactly as good as an aux. but after 10 months, it started crackling and having really bad audio. stopped being usable completely, for me, after the crackling began. not worth it in my opinion unless you just need something short-term. you get what you pay for.
