Lovely book is spiral-bound so it lays open and flat so you can refer to it as you work the illustrations are beautifully photographed and clearly described. And, as an added bonus, it was signed by Betty Linn Davenport herself what a thrill !!

This, along with Davenport's "Hands On Rigid Heddle Weaving", are the two must have books for Rigid Heddle weaving. "Textures and Patterns for the Rigid Heddle Loom" explores many variations of weaving, including twill patterns. The excercises are done in such a way that the beginner who already knows how to warp the loom, can produce sample after sample, adding to the weaver's knowledge base in such a way as to build logical next steps.I thoroughly enjoy working through these excercises. I only wish that Davenport, and others, would consider the advantages of three heddle weaving on the Rigid Heddle Loom, which provides true four-shaft weaving capabilities.
