TriNova Leather Conditioner and Cleaner

Hey everyone, Mike Jones here again with another quick and concise Amazon review. So up today we have the TriNova Leather Conditioner and Cleaner, 18 oz. I really do like this product very much. It is quite easy to use and will definitely clean and polish your leather. I am using this on my 2013 Genesis R-spec sedan and the "after" results make it look like my interior is showroom condition. The product is simple to use: apply a modest amount (about a silver dollar) to the fabric pad, spray some water on the seats, wipe down completely, let dry, then buff off. After using it several times I do have some tips. First, don't be shy to use extra water from the spray bottle, it is your friend. If you used just the liquid from the product you would run out in 2 applications and it isn't necessary. Another tip would be to make sure you do NOT touch anywhere you wiped down with your hands. One my first time around after the product was buffed off I could find a couple of finger prints where I must have touched the leather. It would be similar to the waxing of your car and getting a fingerprint in there. Also, do make sure you let it dry and then buff it off completely. One time I forgot to do so, and while the seats looked extra shiny, I would feel the product on the seats. A quick buff will remove the excess product and make it shine to a somewhat matte finish. It really does clean too, look at the pics of the application pad! The pros: Easy to use, inexpensive, and 4 applications has only gone through a half of bottle for a mid-size sedan like my car. The cons: No real cons, just make sure you use a water spray additive and wipe it down after it dries. Also, the fluid is very watery so don't expect a thick liquid when you apply it to the cloth pad. The overall: This product works! It cleans, it shines, and it's inexpensive and easy to use. Unlike some reviewers here who want to keep their entire car showroom clean, I just want to keep my beautiful robin’s egg blue small leather recliner soft and clean - and Trinova Cleaner & Conditioner works perfectly. Importantly, it hasn’t darkened my light blue leather, either. It’s easy to put on and cleans well; you’ll see the dirt on the applicator pad after you apply it. Rubbing the surface thoroughly with the pad seems to be key to both cleaning and conditioning the leather. You are then supposed to buff the leather after the product has dried; I frequently forget that part and it doesn’t really make a difference for a small recliner :) The product does have a moderately strong smell that lasts about half a day - you can smell it if you’re sitting in the recliner or standing next to it, but not otherwise (it doesn’t fill the room). I’m sensitive to chemical smells and this one only minimally bothers me. It’s the classic leather cleaner smell, not a harsh chemical cleaning smell. This is an excellent product that I highly recommend.

We purchased this product for our brown leather couch. The price seemed average for leather cleaning products and using one bottle would be new for us. We previously used a product that had cleaner and conditioner in seperate bottles and came with a small sponge. Trinova cleaner/conditioner comes in 1 bottle and with a cleaning pad. The product worked as instructed. It is a watery consistency which surprised me when I first squeezed the bottle. There are no directions how to clean the sponge and I don't want cleaning product on other fabrics in the wash and I don't know if hand washing with soap and water will harm the pad. For now, I placed it on the counter for a day then in a ziploc bag for storage. I will try other products to compare with this cleaner.

After running out of the leather care supplies I was given at the furniture store, I had been searching for something to condition my leather couch for about a week. When I read the reviews I figured I'd give this a shot and I'm really glad I did. The conditioner I received from the store made the leather kinda soft and gave it matte look, while this stuff gave it a dark, rich, and almost wet look while making the leather immediately and noticeably soft and flexible. First I hit my couch with the Trinova leather cleaner, then this stuff. Make sure to follow the directions from the bottle and their website, leave the conditioner on for about a half hour then buff the excess off with a microfiber towel. I'll admit while applying the conditioner, it continued to remove dirt that the cleaner missed. The packaged applicator pad is also perfect for the job. The one thing I don't enjoy is the smell. While not overwhelming you might not want to condition your furniture the day before having company over. Doesn't smell like cleaner, it's not harsh, but it's there. If you're looking for something to help bring life to your leather, look no further.

This stuff is amazing. We had a sticky film covering all of our white leather kitchen chairs that would not come out and looked terrible. They were expensive soft leather chairs from Crate and Barrel. I tried cleaning spray, rubbing alcohol, and even Goo Gone. Small spots came off with the Goo Gone and a lot of elbow grease but it was hard work and left the chairs looking worse than before. My wife wanted to buy new chairs but they were expensive. I called Crate and Barrel and asked what they recommended to use to clean the chairs and they said just water and a towel... As a last ditch effort, I ordered a bottle of Leather Nova. I couldn't believe it! I put some on a towel and rubbed it on the chair and in less than a minute almost all the sticky film was gone where I rubbed. I spent another 10 minutes rubbing the leather conditioner all over the front and back of the chairs and I swear they look brand new! I had forgotten how nice they looked and felt when we bought them 5 years ago. This stuff really works and I couldn't recommend it more highly.

I have leather furniture, purses, shoes, boots, car seats. I have tried so many leather conditioners and cleaners and combos, and found reasons to be not quite satisfied with each. I expected pretty much the same with this cleaner. I used it first on an older purse. Hmmm... Not bad! Moved to a pair of older boots - they look much better, and they have remained much better looking following one application of this product. I finally moved to the leather furniture. My dogs like this furniture, and there are inevitably small scratches as well as doggie slobber on it. I have used everything to try to keep this leather looking newish, and while some products have done the job for a couple of days, this one rocks! It cleans well, it helped the scratches appear less noticeable and... it keeps on making my furniture look newish! With the previous product used, I'd be cleaning the furniture every couple of days. This is nice, it truly has conditioned the leather to such an extent that I am using less of the Leather Nova product than I was using of the previous product. Finally! A conditioner/cleaner I like, that works, that lasts. Highly recommended.

Edit: TriNova worked with me to replace my product and I have added a star for the great Customer Service. Thank you! I was really excited about this product after seeing all the glowing reviews. While skeptical that one product could clean AND condition my leather goods, I went ahead and ordered it to try it out anyway. The first thing I noticed was the smell, and there's no sugarcoating it; it smells like rotten lemons... Doing my best to ignore that, I followed the instructions to try the product on a pair of leather shoes from Cole Haan. I ran a damp cloth over the shoes first as instructed. Then, I shook the bottle well, and applied to pad it came with. From there, I started to clean the trouble areas, just some areas where the leather had become discolored from wear. Like many other reviewers, I agree that they looked great initially. But as the product dried (30-45 minutes), the nice look went away from it. It did a decent job of cleaning the dirty areas, but did not leave the shoes feeling conditioned. IF ANYTHING, they felt slightly more supple, but that was about it. I decided to try one more coat, this time mostly rubbing it into the surface of the shoe so that it might absorb better and leave protection, but the results were the same. So in summary, the product promises two things: to clean, and to condition. It cleans fairly well, but does not condition well at all, leaving your goods looking dry. Plus, the smell is VERY tough to work with. My shoes smell like old lemons. Maybe your results will be better, but I won't be trying it on anymore of my products. I'm worried that whatever citrus element is in this cleaner (usually acidic and drying) will eventually harm my products.

Amazing product ! I purchased my sectional 4 years ago and had not cleaned or conditioned it until now, Shame on me ! The seats were dull and gray, Trinova made them charcoal black and shiny again. The picture is after one application and buffing. Since I had neglected it for so long, I used several applications and gave it more than the recommended 30 minutes wait time before buffing between each application. Application is similar to waxing a car, the more coats the better. I found using a circular motion when applying worked well. Although it does have slight fragrance to it, it’s not offensive and has citrus notes. I have a huge sectional ! After doing back, front and several applications to the seats I have about an 1/8 of a bottle remaining. Buy this product to keep your furniture looking new !
