Helping to relieve low back pain
I recently developed low back pain, and a friend invited me to try his Innova inversion table. It worked so well, I ordered this one (Innova ITX9900). It arrived, surprisingly, with no damage. The assembly instructions were clear and simple to follow. Everything fit together beautifully. It is a quality inversion table. I also looked at the Teeter, which also looks nice, but it was significantly more expensive. The ITX9900 was rated #1 in the budget inversion table category. I believe it's a matter of preference, but I like the locking pin used to limit the angle of inversion on the Innova. I can even change it while standing on the inversion table, in the ready position. The teeter seems to use a strap with color coded lines, which appears to require bending underneath the inversion table to adjust the maximum inversion angle. The Innova system seems easier and more convenient to me. I didn't want heat, massage, or other fancy options. I just wanted a quality inversion table, and I'm exceptionally happy with the Innova. I've been using it for a few weeks, and my back has begun to improve. I also talked with my chiropractor and primary care doctor, and both said an inversion table, used properly, can be beneficial. I achieve the most pain relief and health benefits when I use a mild to moderate inversion angle (around 30 degrees) and oscillating gradually between level and inverted for about 2 to 3 minutes. I remain inverted for only about 15 seconds before coming back to a level position. Setting the height adjustment so the table is balanced for my body weight and composition allows me to invert and return to the starting position by simply changing the position of my arms. Raising them gradually above my head causes the inversion table to smoothly invert. Lowering my arms to my sides causes the table to smoothly return to the starting/upright position. Putting my hands together in a prayer-like position and moving my hands gradually above my head and then back to the center of my body causes the inversion table to smoothly rock back and fourth between inverted and level. It provides a nice "pumping action" that has been therapeutic for my back. I recommend reading the instructions and heeding all the precautions related to using an inversion table before using it.

Life-Changing
I had not purchased an inversion table despite being very curious for many years. For a long time they were very expensive and I didn't know much about them. Doctors don't usually recommend them. I have bad stenosis and for years have experienced daily back pain of varying intensities depending on the day. I had already had my three allowed cortisone shots for the year and if I couldn't manage the pain, next stop would have been back surgery as I would have had to wait almost a year before being able to get another shot. Out of desperation, I ordered this model as it was very reasonably priced, looked well made, and boasts it would accommodate 300lbs. I weigh in at about 265lbs. It takes a little bit to put it together but the instructions are good and everything you will need is provided. I was a little apprehensive as I didn't want to hurt myself on it. If you are new to inversion tables and or you are a heavier person, take it slow, real slow. Do your homework. The settings are 15ยฐ, 30ยฐ, 45ยฐ, 60ยฐ, 85ยฐ, & 90ยฐ. Start on the 15ยฐ or 30ยฐ settings for short increments. After a couple weeks or so, switch to 45ยฐ and so on. In the beginning, if you go immediately to coarse angles or use it for long periods of time, you may feel discomfort and your muscles will go into a spasm possibly making things worse. The moral of the story is take it easy. All of this being said, this machine was life-changing for me. It is not an end all be all cure, however it keeps me aligned and I feel about 1/4 of the pain I had before purchasing the unit. I know that if I am experiencing pain, I can get on this and it will immediately take the pain away and stretches out my aching muscles. This has allowed me to remain drug free. We have a large property and I need to be able to perform hard work and maintain mobility. I am 57 and have suffered with severe back pain for years. The very first time I used the machine, afterwards I felt 2" taller as I had been hunching over in my daily life. It stretches your upper as well as your lower back in places that are hard to stretch/flex by just doing excercises. The only downside is that it is not easy to transport or take with you when you travel as this unit and most others were not built necessarily for travel. This machine works so well, you will want to take it with you. I have found other pieces of equipment for traveling but none provide the relief that this table does. I would highly recommend this to anyone who can safely use it for their severe back pain. Just keep in mind that if your spine is really spasmodic and or kinked up, it may not be comfortable to use right away until everything gets stretched out. I experienced that at first but once I was able to relax those muscles, it is exillerating and I have to make sure I don't fall asleep on it as it is so comfortable and I look forward to it every day. I use it a lot before bed as after you stretch out your back, letting it relax as you sleep magnifies the effect in my opinion. I highly recommend this unit, just be careful and don't be too aggressive. Take your time.

Immediate pain relief from pinched nerves at a great price
I made this purchase for back pain relief and it does the job at a great price. After 5-10 minutes upside down it has relieved pinched nerves immediately and when used regularly, keeps my back muscles from seizing up through tightness. Itโs not a miracle worker but pain is greatly relieved!! Hanging at complete 90 degrees did hurt my ankles and knees a bit so now I keep it to about 75 degree angle and it does the job with no soreness to my ankles or over stretch at the knees. Was not hard to assemble but takes some time and it feels very sturdy. I could take or leave the back pillow and rarely use it but glad itโs there when I want a more intense stretch to lower back. The long rod adjustment at the ankles is a must have!!! Some tables come with very short rods and you have to bend way over to get in and out. That would not feel good on my back just after inversion. Lastly, you do have to adjust the table to your correct height so that it lifts and lowers with the movement of your arms like in the video. This is easy to do and does work. However, as other reviews have stated....upon hanging upside down my ankles slip a bit from the holders which shifts my center of gravity so the table doesnโt raise all the way up with my arm movement when Iโm done and want to get up. Not a big deal because Iโm strong enough to use the handles and pull myself up. If you are frail or unable to pull your body weight up, this would be a problem. Would not be an issue for most people though.

Donโt be intimidated by assembly. Easy Peazy!
I like it at this price point. Took about 30-40 mins to assemble. Looks like a lot, but it isnโt once you start piecing it together. I just referenced the instructions, however I got the 2 handles backwards because I wasnโt paying attention. I had my impact drill with bit, so I corrected it quickly. Donโt be scared of the assembly, anyone that put toys together for their kids can handle this easily, but a cordless drill makes it quicker. Itโs a nice piece of equipment to keep you decompressed.

Works Good
Best item we've purchased in a long time! Extremely sturdy and stable. Gently stretches the back and legs. I have lower back issues along with one leg slightly longer than the other. We go to the gym 6 days a week which helped but still had nagging back issues. This is set up in our 3rd bedroom and I get on it for 30 seconds every morning for a gentle easy stretch and it gets me through the day. I'm retired. I've done physical work my whole life. This apparatus allows me to move easily throughout the day.

The ITX9900. Quality build, very fair price and easy to use.
Initially, I learned about this type of device by watching the 'Teeter' infomercial. I immediately thought this concept would be beneficial for me. I suffer from degenerative disk disease and degenerative joint disease (osteoarthritis). In fact, the joints in my shoulders were so bad that both had to be surgically replaced. The disk disease is especially prevalent in my lower back. The marketing for "Teeter' was well done but the price point was too much to take a chance on: especially for a machine that I didn't know how I'd physically react to. I looked into less expensive alternatives and my research led me to the Innova device. This machine is everything I could have hoped for. This Amazon purchase was delivered promptly in a well-packaged box, The company took care to protect all the parts with a combination of styrofoam and plastic wrapping. The small parts (screws, washers, nuts, and ASSEMBLY WRENCHES) were smartly shipped in a compartmentalized and labeled plastic 'clamshell' packaging. Upon looking at the various parts I said 'Oh oh, I'm going to have to get into an IKEA frame of mind. But, after spending about ten minutes ingesting the easy to understand setup directions, I was reassured that there would be no real problem in doing this by myself. I am happy to report that the assembly was straightforward and not very time consuming at all. It took me an hour and a half while watching TV and having coffee. I would think it would be fun to do with a family member. I added the picture to demonstrate the completed dimension. The fact that the device can be folded so that the base segments come together is a big plus. Now, using the device. There are a few things I learned right away. The first being that there should be someone with you during your first attempt to do an inversion. You just don't how your body will react to a new and unique physical experience and you certainly don't want to get stuck in an inversion while you're testing your various machine settings. The second recommendation is to not go full inversion on the first try and third please note there will be adjustments to make. These will include the height factor on the center beam adjustment bar. Even though placing it on your precise height is simple, your body proportions may require you to move it up or down a notch. Pay close attention to achieving a firm center of gravity. This is very important because you want to have total control over your inversion, particularly the ease of going into and coming out of it as well as the rate of movement. The headrest is also adjustable. You don't want your head to be higher than the headrest and it will be up to you how to utilize the air support at mid-machine. My conclusion: This machine has helped my back and neck issues profoundly! I use it almost every day and I am at a point where I love getting on it. I actually feel the separation of the vertebra and the stretching of my muscles. In my case, the routine I do also greatly helps my prosthetic shoulder joints. The machine is very smooth. It also gives me a feeling of confidence that it isn't going to collapse or fall apart while I'm using it. I'm a big guy (230lbs.) so I worry about such things. The foot lock release bar is an example of thoughtful engineering and the ankle clamps are not uncomfortable. I've read about people saying that you should wear athletic shoes while using the machine. I fully agree. The sneakers give my feet a feeling of greater support. Of course, it's up to you. There is one little piece of advice I'd like to give. Keep your cell phone within reach at all times while using the table by yourself when no one is home. Just in case of a freak occurrence. All in all, this is a FIVE STAR product. Happy inverting.

Sturdy, Easy to Use, Effective
Didn't want to spend $400-$500 for the big name table before I knew for sure an inversion table would work for me and my back problems. So, for 1/3 the price, I decided to go with the Innova 9900 and I'm very glad I did. It arrived in a strong box with protective padding around the parts. There were no missing or damaged parts. Assembly was easy - about 1.5 hours going at a careful, deliberate pace. After using it for a month, I'm totally convinced it's a keeper and I have no need for the much more expensive big name table. The Innova is rock solid and very easy to use (smooth, easy transition from upright to inversion and back again). It may not have the all the refinement and smooth curves of the expensive table, but the function is flawless in every way. I'm so glad I got the model with the extended ankle release handle. Bending too far immediately after inversion is difficult for a short while so the extended handle saves wear & tear on the back and it is so easy to use. And the upgraded ankle pads are quite comfortable as long as you wear supportive shoes and thick socks. I use the table 2-3 times per day and have gotten relief from the aches and pains in my back/hips. This model is a winner and I'd recommend it to everyone shopping for a quality inversion table.

Very good table apart from high ankle clamp placement
This device is well made. The foot rest placement, however, is completely unworkable and makes the entire table of questionable value. I was recently teeter model X1 as a gift. It was purchased from a local warehouse club with a generous return policy. I bought this model from Amazon and waiting for it to arrive. When it was arrived it took about an hour to assemble. The parts are nicely packaged to facilitate assembly. The unit over all looks good and is well made. Fit and finish is 95% that of a teeter unit. The teacher unit just looks more fancy which I don't need. The extended lever to clamp in the ankles is but I needed in that part works fine despite a touch too much play in the hinge. I wondered if the back rest on the teeter was going to be superior. I wondered if the nubs that are made to work the back muscles in specific locations would be helpful. Neither of those are the case. The ankle clamps on the teeter however, are much better. They are larger and more comfortable. Most important, the placement of the foot rest makes no sense whatsoever on this unit. When I step into the unit and clamp in the grips they are holding essentially the bottoms of my calf muscles. So when I invert on the table there's at least a 4" amount of slide as my entire body moves north. This means I can't really balance my body on the table effectively. If I get into proper position at 1st position and balance for that, then when I invert my body slides and I am now completely out of balance on the table. Furthermore, if I position the inflatable back rest for 1st position, it is in completely the wrong place for an inverted position.

Very satisfied with my purchase ...
I purchased this table to alleviate my lower back pain. Did a lot of research and decided on this one and am very glad I did. It was really easy to assemble, instructions very clear. It is well constructed, heavy duty. I've been using it for a week and my back pain has lessened a lot. I expect it to take awhile but I have high hopes that my back will feel better in a short time. I use it 3 times a day for 10 minutes each time. Very comfortable for the ankles while hanging. The locking arm is long and easy to access. Great table, worth the price.

Great quality, easy to use.
Helped my back pain already and only use inverted first at 15 degrees and now 30 degrees setting for only a minute at a time.
