Mini Sewing Machine for Beginners, Portable Sewing Machine with 12 Stitches

This mini sewing machine is absolutely perfect for beginners! It’s lightweight, portable, and super easy to set up right out of the box. If you are a true beginner and do not already know how to thread a sewing machine, I would not recommend this one. The package instructions are quite unclear and after multiple tutorial videos, I still cannot figure this out. I did, however, get my stepmother to help me as she sews often and is very familiar with sewing machines. During that time, she noticed that the needle is tilted and over half of the stitches are unable to be used with the foot it comes with and it does not come with any other feet to attach. And when it IS threaded correctly, it frequently jams, which I was told it could be due to the tension, however, it still jams at all different tension options. As far as it being sturdy, I cannot speak on that as I have not been able to sew on it. This sewing machine has offered nothing but a headache at this time, definitely not enjoyable in the least. I can speak on the foot pedal. IF the sewing machine would actually work, the foot pedal would be a great option. It works great for the first two stitches, then it jams and that's as far as I have made it thus far. Now I have to purchase more products for this sewing machine and hope that will miraculously fix the issue, however, I doubt it.

Good for beginners but not great for large projects

Gifted to my Granddaughter on her 16th birthday. A few days later I got a text saying “This is so cool. I’ve tried all the different stitches. How did you know I would want it when I didn’t even know? ps (Little Sister) tore her new lanyard at school and I sewed it back together!”

Ninonly Portable Electric Sewing Machine for Beginners and Those Who Need a Smaller, Lighter Machine - with 16 Stitches, a Foot Pad, Six! I'd give it 4 stars because it doesn't have a self threader and because the diagram for threading is too small to read and leaves out some steps. If you are using quality thread, you can always put the thread in your mouth to flatten it and it will thread. The thread included is crap. A few spools of good, sewing machine quality thread would be better. Thread shouldn't shred as you sew or split when it is cut. So toss the thread and get something designed to be used on a sewing machine, but keep the metal bobbins. Coats & Clarks threaded immediately, with no difficulty. The basic design is pretty much like a Baby Lock Denim Pro, so things are in about the same place they'd be on a full-sized sewing machine. It easily holds up to 250-yard spools, but can handle 500 yd. if you're careful. I've been sewing most of my life, but needed a smaller, lighter machine, and this works. Notes: When winding bobbins, the directions say to move the bobbin winder left, but if you're sitting in front of the machine, move it right. Who winds a bobbin from the back? (See picture of woman "sewing" from the back of the machine...) Step 1: The upper tension pin/screw needs to have the thread fed through the rectangular opening next to it first. Then around the tension pin/screw. It took me several hours to find out why the thread kept bouncing out of the upper thread feed! and the diagram doesn't show it clearly unless you already know about it. Step 5: When threading the machine, you have to lower the needle to make room for your fingers to put the thread through the 2-hole device above the needle. Quilting with this machine means small projects with low-loft, polyester batting - totes, mug rugs, place mats, etc., NOT bed-size quilts with 1/2 " cotton batting.

I strongly regret buying this sewing machine. It completely failed at a basic task like sewing through denim. A machine advertised for household use should at least handle something as common as jeans, but this one struggled immediately and stalled. What is far more concerning is the extremely poor quality of the needles included with the machine. While attempting to sew a simple seam on denim, the needle snapped in half under very light pressure. One half of the needle actually shot upward and landed near my eye. That is not just a product defect — it’s a serious safety hazard. A sewing machine should never create a situation where metal fragments are flying toward someone’s face. This raises serious questions about the quality control, durability of parts, and safety testing of this product. Overall issues: • Cannot handle basic fabrics like denim/jeans • Extremely low-quality needles • Needle snapped in half during normal use • Serious safety risk due to flying metal fragment I cannot recommend this machine to anyone, especially beginners or anyone sewing thicker fabrics. The performance is poor and the safety risk alone makes this product unacceptable. Buyers should be aware that using this machine could potentially cause injury. ⚠️
