great upgrade for my old Stihl 026 saw. The bar is nice, but the chain is what really impressed me. Ive been cutting with this saw for decades and always used Stihl chains - in my opinion this bar/chain combo was a noticeable upgrade

Fit well works well

This is an excellent value and a product made by a company that makes well respected chainsaw accessories. The chain is very sharp (wear gloves) and the bar looks very good. Weight of this bar/chain is typical for these items. Oregon makes quality products so I believe this combo will be very durable. Be sure to lubricate the sprocket at the end of the bar for good service. I purchased this for my Stihl MS280 chainsaw which came with a 20 inch bar. My previous saw was a Stihl 028 that failed and the dealer offered me a deal on the 280. The 028 had an 18 inch bar and I ended up with two new spare chains. I wanted another bar for my saw because it can be handy to have if you get the one you're working with stuck in what you're cutting (remove the power head, put on another bar/chain and free the stuck one). Also, if you damage one bar/chain or run out of sharp chains, having another set lets you continue working. I've included a picture of the back of the chain package which lists the saws it is recommended for. Be sure to check your saw's gauge, pitch, and number of drive links to be sure the chain is the right one. Be sure the bar mount (end that attaches to the power head) is same as your current bar. Pay attention to the bar/chain gauge (width of the drive links that run in the bar's slot), if it's too big the chain will not fit into the bar and if too small the chain will 'wallow' in the bar's groove, damaging the bar/chain.

Stick with Oregon saw parts!

It DOES NOT fit a Stihl MS251. Seller needs to update description. Oregon make excellent products. I will be buying their replacement parts for my Johnsrud when needed.

Heavy but great!!!

I bought this bar and chain for my 271 bc the 20 inch bar was a bit much for brush cutting. I use this to log up average sized trees as well. Honestly I haven't had a reason to put the 20 inch bar and chain back on. It'd a wider cut and at times a faster cut. I've used oregon chains for a long time I swear by them tbh. This is my first bar from them but I've heard good things about their bars. Their full chizzle chains are better than stihls chains. So obviously their doing something right

Chain specifications DO NOT FIT the 041Farm Boss Stihl sprocket Was only able to get a neighbor to help with installation today. I'm an 81 year old and could only get a neighbor to help today. Please consider this and send me a return label as the bar and chain are new except for possible fingerprints.

Happy with the bar and chain, cuts well and fits my ms261 saw. This is the second one I’ve bought from Amazon. The first one lasted about six face cords of wood before getting noisy from chain wear in the channel. Lots of oil but not enough transfer to the channel.

I ordered this after I smoked the OEM bar on my MS271. I reluctantly chose this as a much cheaper alternative to the Stihl bar so I didn't wreck another expensive one as I got to know the saw. I'm glad I did because this Oregon bar and chain combo seems to be holding up even better for much much cheaper. Couldn't be happier.

Description said it would fit my Stihl. It did not. To bad because it was a good deal

Haven't had time to comment on durability, but so far looks like there will be no problem in that department. I'm very pleased with the purchase, and would buy it again if need be.
