Great fabric softener replacement but no help for static
I've used the plastic dryer balls for years and swore by their fabric softening abilities but it was time to replace them as most had started to crack and break down. I wanted a more ecco-friendly material and since I adore wool these were a no brainier. When they arrived I thought they were a bit squishy- not the solid hard felted balls I expected. I'm not saying they aren't solid wool because I think they are. If you've ever felted wool there is a point where you know you are almost finished but you know you have to keep agitating the item because it's still fuzzy, that's what I'm talking about. The only difference in use as opposed to the plastic balls is that they have already started collecting lint balls. No surprise there because we wash a lot of jeans. I have static with the items I've always had problems with so they are no help in that department but it's not like it's made my laundry worse either. They work great for drying delicate items like my down jacket that would singe otherwise. I've added photos for the people who are curious about static and lint.

since I don't like dryer sheets
I mainly bought these hoping they would reduce static, since I don't like dryer sheets. I'd heard wool dryer balls can do that and these do say they will reduce static. Unfortunately I've noticed no reduction in static, though I do think they may help soften and reduce wrinkles. No idea about drying time, I don't keep track and don't care too much.Like all dryer balls, they will find their way into shirt sleeves and other places, and may not resurface until the next season. So it's good there's 6 of them because I expect 3 of them will be hiding in my closet at any given time.

Almost perfect
The listing says these are noise free, will reduce drying time, and will reduce static. I use them every load, so obviously I like them. I wouldn't say they're noise free, I would agree that they're probably quieter than tennis balls or the plastic ones. I find they do reduce drying time, and clothes are soft and wrinkle free. (Though they're soft and wrinkle free without the balls too.) The listing says that they reduce static, but I have to disagree. I've tried everything I can think of including adding a ball of tin foil to the dryer to reduce the static. I've had to resort to adding dryer sheets to the load. I really want a chemical free laundry process, so if anyone has a better suggestion I'd love to hear it!

Great in the dryer, and a nice pet toy, too
I got these on a whim. They are about the size of a baseball, and lighter than you think. Slight odor to them (natural, animal smell)- so you might want to wash them before first use. I noticed that my white cotton laundry was dry sooner than normal when I dried it on sensor. So, yay.My dog found one of the balls, and loves it. She isn't a super chewer, so it's been a great in the house ball. The cats are not so interested, but I imagine in the middle of the night, they are going to love these. The texture and the natural smell will be very attractive.

Mostly work OK but my bath towels began leaving lint on me when I dried off so I am not using them daily
I needed something to spin around in the dryer when I wash my down pillow and/or king comforter and prefer anything natural over plastic so I ordered these wool balls. My only complaint is that when I used them in my regular laundry loads, my bath towels had lint all over them, so when I dried off it was like using new towels that had never been washed before. This happened for the two days that I was using them to dry every load and as soon as I stopped, the bath towels were normal again. I am using these about three times a week. They seem to keep bed sheets from knotting up.

Much better than the plastic dryer balls!
I had the plastic blue dryer balls in the past and I was looking to replace those since they split and no longer became usable. I didn't even know these existed until I started looking for replacements. I liked the fact that these said they would decrease static cling, which was not a feature (that I know of) of the plastic balls. So, I thought I'd give these a shot. I found that I like these much better than the plastic ones. They do seem to decrease static cling. They are also much quieter in the dryer than the plastic ones. The dry time is about the same as with the other dryer balls I had and have used for so long that I don't know exactly how much drying time it saves.....but there is no downside to using them that I know of.....so I'll keep using them. I haven't tried to put scented oils on them like others have mentioned, but I may try that in the future. I have been using these for 4 months and they have held up well. There is just very slight pilling on the outside of the dryer ball itself but does not leave anything on the laundry.

Wool is wonderful!
I bought a different brand of wool dryer balls, but they were out of stock when I went back to buy more. So I bought these instead. I bought two packages and gave them as baby gifts. The recipients were surprised and very pleased. I can't wait to hear how they like them. I am VERY pleased with the dryer balls that I bought. They keep my clothes from bunching up in the dryer, and they certainly reduce drying time. I know some people complain that they don't reduce static, but if you are drying synthetic fabrics you are simply going to have static. Putting a little baking soda in the wash water can be helpful, as well as being sure to remove synthetic clothing BEFORE it is completely dry, shaking it out and hanging it up.The wool dryer balls work really well, and are far superior to the plastic ones I first tried. Those worked fine, but they came apart within a month or so. I am pleased to have found these, and I hope the new parents enjoy them too.

terribly false. One
Purchasing reasons for this product are truly, terribly false. One, there's plenty of noise to be heard when the balls are tumbling around in the dryer; two, expect a lot of static cling like you would when you don't use fabric softener; three, my towels especially were no softer than as if I hadn't used the dryer balls. Don't waste your money on any dryer ball products- period!
