Great replacement air suspension compressor for Audi Allroad - 2002 Vintage
This pump installed fast (<30 mins by local mechanic), and instantly brought the 2002 Allroad suspension back to like-new performance. It has been installed and running for ~6 months at this point (including several tough drives into winter conditions in CA and CO mountainous terrain through 10K feet in elevation), with ZERO issues. It is quiet (cannot hear it in cabin during normal driving, and have to listen for it pretty hard when changing levels while car is standing still). Provides OEM speed of topping-off the system as needed by the central controller and changing suspension levels on driver command. Two VERY IMPORTANT notes for Audi Allroad owners (I have owned mine since new in 2002, so ~18 years, 175,000 miles, and know this car inside out: 1) 99.99% of suspensions problems are caused by leaking front air shocks - they take a beating in the allroad and are under-engineered. You should change your front air-shocks every 70k miles (period). If your car is leaking at night, or while parked, change your front air shocks. Use Arnott...their stuff is great and can be bought here on Amazon. For comparison, my REAR air-shocks lasted 165,000 miles and would probably still be fine except that I replaced them while doing the last compressor swap just to be safe (the rear shocks take far less of a beating than the front air shocks b/c they don't have to deal with the enormous pressures transferred to the front wheels during hard braking and cornering) 2) If you can hear your compressor topping-off the pressure reservoir constantly and esp if it sounds like it is straining (and you are sure your front air shocks are NOT leaking), replace your compressor with an item like this one. It's a cheap, easy, fast job. If you let leaky front air shocks persist for a few months, the strain will burn out the compressor. In any case, the compressor lasts about 80K miles and then it starts to wear out (also under engineered). The system will run on partial pressure for many months (even years), while it slowly burns the compressor up. During that time, you will have a softer than normal ride, ultra-slow rate of suspension level change, and hear the compressor wheezing away constantly. Do yourself a favor and replace the compressor as soon as it starts to sound bad or you notice it having a hard time maintaining or changing levels. This system runs at 200 PSI in the main reserve tank and at ~100psi in the air shocks >> it needs a compressor that's in good shape to function properly! The other system components (solenoid distribution block, the "brain" suspension control module, the various air pressure tubes connecting all the components, the level sensors on each wheel) are almost NEVER a problem (all mine going strong at 175k 18 years). Audi was very sloppy about sending advisories to Allroad owners as this car proved how the suspension failed in the real world. They should have issued an advisory stating simply: we recommend replacing your front air-shocks and your air-suspension compressor every 70,000 miles. This would solve 99.999% of the problems folks have with this system which has given the car a very bad name.

Just over a year the pump fails out of warranty
2001 allroad it works... only time will tell its durability. Yes a tad noiser then stock but if you loosen the spring mount there will be less noise and vibration in the cabin. Good value so far. (Updated) Recently its has been constantly running think it might be on way out, warning light come and goes when cold. Lasted 13 month then died
