NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 7 Router RS100, Up to 1,500 sq ft, 3.6 Gbps

What a difference, so much better than the top sky router. Even in the same room, I was having so much trouble with WiFi. Looking at the socials, there were a lot of sky customers with the same problem and nothing sky could do!! There were a lot of recommendations for NETGEAR nighthawk, I managed to get this one (returner like new) which is the dual band WiFi 7 and saved quite a bit to give it a go. It arrived in its original box, a couple of scuffs, but ok. Bit fiddly setting up, thank goodness for technical son, but once done, Wow, now that’s what I call WiFi, signal strength is brilliant and the version I have covers 50 devices , very pleased. If you have the “my sky app” you won’t be able to check your network, if anything it will think there’s a fault, but there is not. But you can with the Netgear App, which you have to download to set up. This gives you real time exact strength, upload, download speeds and lots more. But would I recommend it, absolutely.

I bought the NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 7 Router (RS100), and overall it’s been a solid upgrade for my home network. I wanted something faster and more reliable, and it definitely delivers on that. The first thing I noticed was how quick and straightforward the setup was. I had everything up and running without much hassle, and the connection has been stable since. In terms of performance, the speed and coverage are very good. It handles multiple devices without slowing down, and I have had consistent signal across the house. Streaming, browsing, and general use all feel smooth. I also like the overall design and build quality, it feels like a proper, well made piece of tech rather than something cheap. The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that while performance is strong, some of the advanced features and settings can feel a bit limited or not as user-friendly as expected. It works great out of the box, but if you like more control, it could be better. Also, for the price, I would have liked just a bit more in terms of flexibility or extra features. That said, it’s still a reliable, fast, and easy to use router that does the job well for most everyday needs, at this price point it offers great value froma reputable brand.

This is one of many Netgear products I have bought over the years. I am never disappointed, and they are always good value for money, performing exactly as described or better. This router is no different. I bought it to replace a recalcitrant older router of another make which I had spent almost a day trying to get to connect to my new fibre connection. This one went straight in, using a mobile app, no problems - I should have bought this first and done something more useful with the wasted time! I would recommend this!

It does basics well. The admin interface could use some polishing.

This is ok just for creating a private and guest network and managing device connections, BUT no good for website blocking or any other secure stuff. BUY WITH CAUTION!!!

Bought this to replace the Vodafone supplied router as it was a bit underwhelming with its Wi-Fi range, speeds, and buggy firmware. With Vodafone you will need to ask them for your PPPoE username and password. The Netgear RS100 appealed to me as it was relatively cheap (does not have 6GHz Wi-Fi), from a reputable brand with decent support / firmware updates. It works really well, my broadband speeds are 500/70 which is what the Vodafone supplied router got but the RS100 is more consistent (using ethernet cable and over Wi-Fi) and web browsing feels more responsive. My PlayStation 5 also works really well with UPNP working as expected. If you want a no nonsense router that is affordable you cant go wrong with this, just make sure it is what you need as it doesn't support mesh networks (meaning for good coverage throughout your entire home you need to place it somewhere central), and lacks 6GHz Wi-Fi. The most interesting feature though is you can also disable the LED lights from blinking when there is network activity :-)

We bought this to replace an ISP-provided ZTE router. It was simple to set-up and greatly improved our WiFi coverage. It works extremely well with our Netgear EAX 80, giving an effective and easily managed Mesh system at a very reasonable price. The system has “Armor Now” additional security at an additional price for those who feel they need that protection, but this is simple to disable for those who don’t need/want it.

Finally managed to set it up after it had decided to change all the ip addresses from 192.***.***.*** to 10.***.***.***. I spent 4 hours fault finding. I had to edit my fstab (linux) as I had about 30 locations to shared folders on my NAS. It was a right PITA.

Aunque tenia grandes expectativas del producto, le tengo que dar una estrella. He comprado el modelo RS100 para sustituir el router de la compañía telefónica, pensando que este me iba a dar mejores prestaciones, pero desde el inicio fue un calvario, soy informático y estoy acostumbrado a utilizar la interfaz web de este tipo de dispositivos, la interfaz aunque es intuitiva, se reinicia a cada rato, estas configurando algún parámetro y de la nada se reinicia la interfaz y te pide usuario y contraseña, ademas es lentísimo todo, cambias el nombre y clave del wifi y guardas los cambios y se tarda una eternidad en aplicarlos, y eso si no se reinicia la interfaz por el camino y tienes que volver a comenzar. Intente con la aplicación, del movil, y peor aun, la aplicación detectaba el router pero a los segundos se desconectaba. Después de 2 horas, entre reinicios y actualizaciones de firmware, logro configurar todo a través de la interfaz web, pero para mi sorpresa el fallo no es solo de la interfaz sino también del dispositivo, tengo un ordenador conectado directamente por cable y 2 móviles por Wifi, no me preguntes por que, pero cada tanto los dispositivos pierden la conexión a internet. Basado en mi experiencia, me atrevería a decir que los problemas vienen por un hardware pobre, debe tener un procesador y memorias que no estan a la altura de las funcionalidades que pretende ofrecer el fabricante, o ha sido mala suerte y me ha tocado una unidad defectuosa, pero la experiencia ha sido tan mala que he optado por devolverlo y comprar un router TP-link, que he tardado 5 min en colocar y configurar y va de lujo. Si tengo que agregar algo bueno, es que la aplicación móvil tiene varias funcionalidades interesantes, como todo el tema de monitorización de la actividad, intensidad de señal y alguna otra cosa, si logras hacer que se mantenga 2 min seguidos sincronizada con el router estaría genial.

Je n'utilise ce routeur que depuis quelques semaines. Sa mise en place est très simple en téléchargeant l'application (un qrcode est fourni). J'ai choisi ce routeur pour trois points : - Car le wifi de ma box me posait des soucis de stabilité en streaming notamment avec une PS Portal (nombreux décrochages, baisse de qualité et parfois perte totale de liaison de quelques secondes). - Car le switch ethernet 4*1G intégré et son interconnexion 2,5G est un gros +, je vais donc pouvoir connecter des appareils de mon meuble TV en filaire, là ou avant ils fonctionnaient en Wifi. - Car j'ai jamais été déçu de Netgear, c'est pour moi un bon rapport qualité/prix Pour le moment je suis très satisfait, les débits sont conformes à ce que j'en attendais, la couverture aussi (le signal est bon dans toute la maison), et je n'ai pas eu le moindre décrochage ou baisse de qualité avec le Portal sur plusieurs dizaines d’heures de jeu, même à plusieurs mètres du routeur avec deux cloisons entre. Ce routeur Netgear dispose donc d'un mode "routeur" par défaut (avec son propre serveur DHCP, NAT, redirection de ports, DMZ, etc...) mais aussi d'un mode "point d'accès", et c'est ce mode qui m'intéresse (dans ce mode c'est la box qui attribue les IP aux équipements Wifi et non le routeur Netgear qui se contente que de diffuser du Wifi et rien de plus. Pour le moment donc il coche toutes les cases, à voir dans la durée.

Die App ist in meinen Augen absolut überflüssig, aber gut für wer nicht ohne kann. Angenehm auch, die blinkenden LED's abschalten zu können, dann leuchtet nur die Power-LED dauerhaft. Nach dem Firmwareupdate besteht auch die Möglichkeit, im erweiterten Modus MIMO mit Beamforming zu aktivieren. Das sollte man nutzen, um Geschwindigkeit und Signalstärke zu optimieren. Von meiner Seite gibt es volle Punktzahl für dieses recht kompakte und unauffällige Gerät.
