A fun Off-Road Truck for rough and tumble terrain - 4WD works great (and TWO Batteries!!)
This RC Truck is clearly designed for off-road fun and not for extreme speed, so I will preface this review with that note - it's 4WD is best for powering over hills, tracks and rocks. When any RC vehicle has 4WD, you are in for a treat! We have several SIMREX RC vehicles now, and I have found that this Truck is best for off road and rocky terrain. My childhood was spent racing 1/16 Scale RC Cars as a kid and teenager, so I have had some of the top leading brands and models. None of them had lithium ion battery technology and wow - the batteries last a long time! The best part about this SIMREX model is that it comes with TWO BATTERIES. Another feature that I didnât realize it had was ACTUAL WORKING LED lights ALL OVER the Truck!!! This car has the best hard plastic cover I have ever seen in any RC model - a complete roll bar system that protects the cover when it flops and rolls. AND TRUST ME - it will roll over on you more than once, simply because itâs so much fun to drive over rocks and up hills.BATTERY LIFEOkay, as anyone that started with these RC Cars in the 1990âs (yes, people Iâm a 40+ year old playing with this like I was a kid again! My wife teases me about this every time I take it outside to our greenbelt to play with it! Hahhaha), all the batteries back then were Ni-Cad technology, which is okay, but heavy and donât last very long. Many other RC Cars still use the old Ni-Cad batteries, and wow - the difference is amazing. We are extremely impressed by the power and long-lasting energy provided by these Li-ion batteries.SPEEDAs I mentioned above, this Truck model is clearly designed for off-road fun and not for extreme speed, so if you are looking for crazy speed - look at the SIMREX 1/16 RC Car (which is also 4WD, but in that car it's used for speed, not torque and power like in this Truck). Another really nice feature on the remote is the option to reduce the total speed (which will clearly extend the battery life as well), and allows new or younger customers to learn how to drive these without flipping it over too much. This 14inch long Truck is a good size for RC vehicles, and though heavy - still powers through all types of terrain. I donât care what age you are - even an 80+ year old will LOVE playing with this toy truck, especially if you have a little off road area you can take it to.CONTROLLERIt takes some time, even for an experienced racer, to get used to the responsiveness of the controller. The 2.4ghz controller does an excellent job and has a LONG RANGE - we drove it so far we couldnât tell which way it was going at first (but the lights helped us figure out which way it was going) and it was still fully responding to the controller. The arrangement of LED lights all over this vehicle is the MOST IMPRESSIVE light setup I have ever seen or heard of in ANY R/C Car - EVER!!LED LIGHTSAs I mentioned, the LED working lights on this model are probably my favorite feature, and extremely useful for determining which way the car is facing when too far away. Unlike the 1/16 Scale RC Car that I mentioned above (another 4WD model car by SIMREX), this Truck has lights on the front, back, and top rack. It's unbelievable, but the Turn Lights on this truck ACTUALLY BLINK when you turn the controller!!! I have never seen or heard of this feature in any RC Vehicle, so it blew my mind when we figured out that's what it was doing. I thought the lights were damaged at first, because one kept blinking randomly, and then we realized it was like a real truck with actual working turn lights. Unbelievable and well done SIMREX!I could honestly write 10 more paragraphs about this Truck and my experiences so far (and I have only had it a short time), but I believe you will all enjoy this vehicle. This has become one of the best stress relievers after a hard dayâs work that I have found in decades. Try it out for yourself, if you absolutely hate it - sell it to me!! I now want to get several more to race with family and friends. Enjoy!

A very decent entry level 4X4 RC Truck for beginners.
This little thing is one of those bang for the buck purchases where for the price you are getting a good number of features that you don't normally expect to fit into a price point.I have been a fan of RC cars/trucks on and off for a long while, starting in the late 80's and has continued on in bits all the way to today. There is no comparing this to say a Traxxas Slash or something along that level, but for a fully made, ready to drive, "Toy" level RC, this thing really hits that spot where you can get it for a friends kid, or even that bored uncle, and it will offer a lot of fun and enjoyment for the price without being to cheap to be fun nor to expensive to be a easy to give gift.Onto the actual offering. The truck comes with 2 batteries, a RC Transmitter, has lights all over it that do actually work well in the dark, (Some even blink when turning and can be toggled), it's 4X4 with actual metal parts in some rather good places, and while it's 100% offbrand styled, it does have a neat sort of Jeep/Hummer vibe going on that works just fine. (Jummer perhaps?)Is it truly a rock crawler, not really, nor is it Super Fast, but it does have some adjustability to it's speed level so you can give it to a raw beginner and it won't go too fast that they can't learn the ropes of how to drive an RC Car without breaking it in the first solid object impact. It does look and feel reasonable durable as well which is great. It doesn't quite have the turning fidelity to make it really precise to drive, but it is good enough for some indoor and mostly outdoor use as it is.The combination of the package deal, at this price, with the features it does have is quite good combined. And The Runtime seems to be pretty great as well (They say 20-30 minutes which has been about what I've gotten) which being Lipo powered isn't too big of a surprise but is a heck of a lot better than my old days of using the NiCad batteries that lasted only a handful of minutes and had only a short bit of full power.Overall I do highly recommend this little truck if you are browsing around and like the look, want something reasonably affordable with all you need save a few batteries for the transmitter, and have a kiddo that you want to put a big smile on their face.
