This is the easiest electronic device I’ve set up in our home in years. We had an Orbi mesh wifi setup with ATT 1GB Fiber. The Orbi went end of life end of support. I shopped. I researched. I asked friends. Several friends said Orbi. Several friends said eero. I’m thrilled with the eero7, the least expensive WiFi 7 solution. Our home is 4000 sq ft single story. The signal strength is fantastic- I can get signal out in the yard. The setup was maybe 10 minutes, and that’s because I had to climb a stepladder to place the unit on top of bookshelves. I was able to keep my previous naming convention with a click. No reprogramming anything. Perfect! The units are small, unobtrusive and mighty. The speed and data throughout is fast, probably 3x the Orbi we had for years. Buy it. The low cost, high speed, easy setup is a total win. The reliability has been perfect. I didn’t need to adjust anything, eero just works. Perfect consumer experience.

Edit and update. After my review EERO support reached out and explained they would love to help. Paul took me thru some settings, and I gave them permission to directly access and he was able to help us speed it up. After some further evaluation they saw an issue and replaced my pods. The new pods are flying and I’m seeing and using my WiFi again. And now w WiFi in the pool (I’m in fact writing this from the pool on the WiFi.). Thank you EERO and Paul for spending the time to make it right. Ok so I figured i would install a new router into my eero 6 setup so that way I’d benefit from my 2.5 gb fiber connection since I no longer have to split house WiFi w teens etc. The install and taking over the network went very well. I go ahead and pay for eero plus as well. No need to redo my network, and at first it was great until 20 minutes post install when my wife went to watch the firestick in the living room that has one of the mesh routers in the room next to tv. Suddenly the firestick is running on slow, having connection issues etc. I think ok, the network is working itself out but let me go take a look. Just crazy but seems like it working but in reality it’s just been like I’m running WiFi 802.11b in the house. Always issue, wife no longer connects phone into network cause it won’t download pages fast etc etc. I like the eero software, but I made a mistake and should have just started whole new network with different brand I think. 170 dollars of learning. I must say that I'm truly impressed so far with how these units are performing. It was very easy to setup through the eero app. They have been solid up to this point. They haven't been online for very long, but they are much better than the Tenda devices that they replaced. The packaging was very good. They seem high quality with a little weight to them. I'll report back if I have any issues. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these devices.

This new eero 7 gives me the raw speed of eero Pro 6 without the incessant latency spikes, and it does so much more efficiently. Using the Wi-Fi heavily doesn't raise the radio business way high into the busy range in the eero app analytics, unlike with eero Pro 6 which would, because the eero 7 uses less than 15w, whereas the eero Pro 6 came with a brick for over 40w. This is important especially for smaller weirder homes like mine, it's a split-level layout that always had range and dead spot issues with a single router, so using an eero 6 (non-Pro) 3-Pack was a game changer, while the eero Pro 6 was so overpowered that I had to use MoCa backhaul lest the radios constantly overpower each other making the Wi-Fi nigh unusable. The eero 7 is seemingly the first proper successor to the basic low-power 6, keeping it actually usable in any home while upping the speed significantly. Another important factor in the basic eero 7's favor is that this entry level model is the high-selling face of the eero brand, while my eero Pro 6 had a strange ongoing issue with repeated hitches every few seconds when doing local network game streaming over the Wi-Fi at any speed over 40mbps, such an issue would be easier to detect and fix on the basic eeros because by having so many more units out in peoples hands they'd get a lot more real-world data and reports about obscure issues to know about and fix them, and they have more incentive to do so because such issues existing in the basic eeros more people have would be much more damaging to the eero brand. It's not flawless, while I no longer have to limit my local network game streaming speed to 40mbps to avoid constant latency spike hitches, it will still hitch very occasionally, but given I have a LOT of devices connected I don't really blame it. So that's the nitty-gritty of why I chose this router and why I'm feeling good with keeping it, now some of the basics that are common to all eeros and why I chose to stick with eero even after a not so great experience with the Pro 6 are, it's super reliable and easy to use, controlling everything in the app works well, the app is well designed, and I like the eero Plus subscription that gives some extra features (Detailed analytics, network-level ad and threat blocking, dynamic dns), and also includes a 1Password family plan, MalwareBytes Premium for 20 devices, and Guardian VPN, which works well but can only be used on mobile through the eero app, or on macOS or Windows with Guardian's own app, there is no access for a guardian mobile to share access to the VPN without giving access to the eero settings, nor is there an Apple TV or Fire TV client like PIA VPN has. The ability to assign devices to a profile and pause the Wi-Fi for that profile is really slick, but devices that can change mac address can bypass it and unfortunately there's no way to automatically block unknown mac addresses from connecting. The setup is really good too, setting up a new network in the app is easy and simple, as is replacing eeros in an existing eero network, that's really one of the great bits, that when you replace your eeros you can keep the exact same network with all your devices still connecting as if nothing changed. The best part really is the set it and forget nature of eero, it auto-updates overnight and it seems to do so pretty intelligently as it has never kicked me off when I'm using it, and it works really well, the network comes back up automatically and it's as if nothing happened the next morning, it's seriously robust, and that robustness and the reliability is really felt, even in the event of a neighborhood wide internet outage eero Plus lets you use your phone's hotspot to keep the network going.

I bought three of these to replace an older Eeros system that became outdated, and it works just as well (even faster, actually) than the prior Eeros system, which was great for its time. With one on the ground floor, one at the far end of the upstairs when the coax feed comes in, and one at the other end of the upstairs, we get a strong signal anywhere in the house. They're a snap to activate, and as you can see from the photo, if you buy the holders, they plug into the wall very neatly with no loose wires or such. Love 'em!

Internet issues had been going on for months. At and t replaced router and still spotty coverage. Had an old araknis system x2 ($500 each) not working properly. Bought the newest eero system with a recommendation from my brother in law. Wow. I’m not a tech expert but the video on how to install made it super easy. Now we have full coverage throughout the house and even coverage outside. If you want to boost your coverage, this is a super easy system with easy to explain directions and not terribly expensive for a 3 unit system. And it’s the most recent Wi-Fi 7 to boot. Skip the others and just go with this. The units look nice on your table or shelf and the one you plug into the router comes with a new Ethernet cord. 3 bars all day and night for the win!

Has several flaws and definitely not the 5-star product others are raving about. I have 1 Gbps Internet and will break down this down by device type and location, starting with the best: Devices hard-wired directly to a router's ethernet ports have AMAZING speeds! Those plugged into the main router are getting 950+ Mbps, one room away are getting 800-900, and two-or-more rooms away are getting 200-350 (5-7x higher than using wifi). Stationary wifi devices within 1-2 rooms of the main router are getting 250-450 Mbps. Stationary wifi devices connected to routers (same room) that are 2-4 rooms away are only getting 50-100 Mobs, exactly the same speeds they get *without the router connected at all" meaning if these wifi devices are connected back to the primary router they get those same speeds. Stationary devices that are 2+ rooms away (outside, etc) from a router that is 2+ rooms away from the primary are getting 10-25 Mpbs, which is a huge improvement over not having a mesh af all. Devices that roam from room to room have it the worst. These are mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. The system does NOT hand them off to a a faster or stronger router as they move. Yes I have "Client Steering" enabled, but it seems useless for roaming devices. What's happening is whatever router they first connect to, they lock in on that router and won't switch until their connection is lost. So for instance if I am standing right next to one of the distant routers and connect, I may get about 40 Mbps. Then if I move to the primary room and stand next to that router, my speeds are dropping to 25 Mbps because it's still connected to that distant router 4 rooms away. No matter how long I wait it won't switch to the router I'm standing next to. If I disconnect my device's wifi and reconnect, I instantly get 400 Mbps. This is very annoying and much worse than before we switched to mesh. Some devices (old and new) will not connect to the main network at all in this system. I tried enabling and disabling every options and different security settings, but they just won't connect. However they will connect to the "guest network" only, so they still get internet but aren't on the network so they can't be controlled by other devices. The app and device setup are very simple and easy to control. And it's very easy to add a new router.
