Great alternative if you can route inside of the walls.
Thin jacket and easily maneuvered through wall joists fishing downstairs from the attic. Highly recommend. Plenty of length to get where you need, signal seems fine on my security system, high quality, and seems to be compatible with DVR and TV.

Better off using a fiber-optic HDMI cable, but this one is okay and bi-directional
I should probably return this, but a spare HDMI extension cable is always handy and this one was inexpensive and very well made, although it did not work well for me. -not really the bad for this cable. See more below. This application was to extend a 10 foot HDMI cable that connects a powered HDMI splitter downstream of a Tivo Roamio through another 10 foot HDMI cable. The intention was to reach the signals to a remote backyard TV. The total length adding up to about 50 feet, which is stretching the specified limit for HDMI signals conductor without use of a repeater. I was uncertain of the results which, were unacceptable e.g. 'sparklies' in the display. In humble afterthought, you are better off using an equivalently priced fiber-optic HDMI cable -or wireless 2.4/5 GHz transceiver system.
