Not too impressive, but also not too shabby for what it is

Appears to be another run of the mill garden variety boot knife. The factory edge needed some honing, and it is only a single edge knife as the other side is flat dull and unsharpened whatsoever but also in such a way that one could easily sharpen it themselves but once it is sharpened (properly), it will easily slash cardboard edges off like butter. The tip, razor sharp. It is going in whatever it is thrust in out of the box, which is what this blade was designed for. I can't speak for the durability of the tip, but I would expect it to hold up at least to normal use.The sheath, needed some "break in" before I could pull it without also removing the sheath with it from the boot. After drawing the knife from the sheath by hand about 50-75 times it finally loosened up to where I could pull the knife from the sheath while latched to the boot and not bring the sheath along with it.The steel is typical Chinese as is seemingly customary on these knives, with made in China stamped on the end of the handle. So with that, my overall opinion of this blade is it's a beater. Buy it and use it till it breaks then buy something else. It ain't something I plan on passing on or handing down.

Love the handle!

The Kershaw Secret Agent is a discreet and capable tool that seems to vanish until it's needed. It's designed for those moments when a larger knife isn't practical, but reliability is still paramount. The 4.4-inch 8Cr13MoV steel blade, with its single edge and non-reflective black oxide finish, offers a balance of strength and subtlety. It’s sharp out of the box and ready to tackle a variety of tasks, from cutting cordage to preparing kindling. The included molded sheath is well-thought-out, providing secure retention while allowing for multiple carry options. Whether discreetly tucked into a boot or attached to a belt, the Secret Agent remains comfortably out of sight until called upon. Weighing in at a mere 3 ounces, it's a featherlight addition to your everyday carry kit that won't weigh you down. This knife isn’t about flashy looks or unnecessary features; it's about dependable performance in a compact and concealable package. For those who value preparedness and appreciate the utility of a well-crafted blade, the Kershaw Secret Agent is a worthy addition to their collection.

cool but not practical

i like the looks, good sheath, i could not find if this knife is a solid piece of metal thru the handle. probably not. if your a special ops killer its great. oterwise, its a bit big for daily carry. i keep it in my briefcase or on the room wall via magnet. if u need versitility ,this is not the best choice. we knew that when i clicked "buy". still cool

Good quality, has some pros/cons when compared to CRKT Dragon

I've had the CRKT Dragon as my primary boot knife for a while. The Kershaw 4007 secret agent seemed lighter so I thought I'd give that a try. I found some important difference which skewed my decision back in the Dragons favor:Pros:The kydex sheath on the Kershaw 4007 is about 1/2 the width of the CRKT and the whole set up is lighter. In addition, while I found the handle of the CRKT Dragon excellent in a natural grip, it was not as good in a reverse (ice pick) grip. The Kershaw feels comfortable in any type of grip. I also liked the double-sided blade of the Kershaw as it penetrates effortlessly and a little more efficiently than the Dragon does.Cons:The kydex sheath on the Kershaw killed it for me. It's well built and holds the blade securely, however the design of it makes is UNCOMFORTABLE for long periods of time the way I carry it (upside down on the inside front of my calf with the metal clip REMOVED). Unfortunately while thinner than the CRKT Dragon's sheath, it is THICKER in an awkward manner that causes part of the sheath to dig into my calf after a period of time. The CRKT's sheath is much flatter and wider and sits more comfortably against the leg. In fact, I've worn the CRKT Dragon for an entire day without hardly noticing it was there. I couldn't wear the Kershaw more than 2 or 3 hours, which means I wouldn't carry it on a regular basis negating the entire benefit of having one. I tried the Kershaw as a forearm carry but it was too long for that and also had the problem of digging into me, and it's too long to practically conceal when clipped on my belt. One additional con is that, while the CRKT Dragon is most visibly full-tang, I have no reason to be believe that the secret agent is. In fact, the handle feels far too light to be full tang despite the butt cap that makes it APPEAR full tang. Similar in size to the Dragon, it was much lighter and the only way to shed weight is to shed metal like Kershaw did on the 4007...not what I really want to see in a backup knife.Bottom line: for my style of carry, the CRKT Dragon is a better fit for my needs though the Kershaw 4007 is a quality product.
