Kickport KP2CH Bass Drum Enhancer

Whenever I have a drum set that has a 20" Bass drum, I always put one of these kickports on my resonant head. It makes the bass drum sound thunderous and gives it more low end. It's around 50 dollars, so the value isn't there, but it's worth it for the sound quality. Be sure to install the O ring and cut the hole the right size in your bass drum, it is a little tricky to install these things at first.

It works. Enough said. Now you don't have to read the rest if you don't want to. I had been looking at this for about a year and finally bought it. Simply, it gives the drum more punch which is amazing. It's lower and doesn't resonate as long, which sounds fantastic when you're playing the set acoustic. The drum will sound even better through a mic like if you're at a live show or recording. The chrome color looks very slick on my all black drumset. Don't buy a ported drumhead if you want to use this; it says that it will work for port holes 5"-5.5" but the Kickport itself comes with a stencil to cut their ideal 5.25" hole. Once again, couldn't be happier. Buy this, you will no regret it.

I was doubtful this thing would make a difference in my kick drum besides looking really cool. Once I applied it, played it at a gig, it was a noticeable difference in the tone of the kick drum. In my opinion it does for a kick drum what a BBE does for a bass rig...gives you a more rounder low end thump. I want to get one for all my kick drums. I love that they offer different colors to choose from. My only con is getting the thing on was not the easiest thing I have ever done. I was able to get it on with a long handled flat head screwdriver after a few passes.

I always thought these were a gimmick until now. It added a lot of low end punch & deadens unwanted overtones. It also protect the port hole from rogue mics & morons. A bit pricey, but worth it. Build sturdy for a long life!

This garbage destoyed my $80 drum head!! TRASH!! Do not buy!!

Very nice esthtic, easy to install and effective on sound performance. Material is very fragile thow.

This was the first Kickport I purchased and love it! I loved it so much I hounded them till I get an endorsement. I have since gotten 7 or more to use and give to friends. It's well made, tough and easy to install as long as you make one solid cut for the hole. If you start and stop several times cutting the hole you may make microscopic tears where the vibrations will rip the head. If you carefully make the hole, the head will last you. As for the sound, it makes a HUGE difference in punch, warmth and tone. You can check youtube for several demonstrations on sound and installation. I recommend this product and fully support it's claims. Get you one!!!

Purchased a Remo Starfire and wanted a port for mics. This port added to the head sound, much like a port on a subwoofer box. AND IT LOOKS GREAT!!

non scriverò troppo merito al suo funzionamento in quanto sono state spese fiumi di pagine sul prodotto. Dico solo che la cassa di suo dovrebbe già suonare bene, dunque se avete bisogno di pelli migliori o altro, fatelo prima di acquistare il kickport o se proprio necessita cambiate cassa. Io ho messo circa 80 cm di gommapiuma piramidale grigia sul fondo (per tutta la larghezza e contro la superficie) pelli buone e un battente decente e già così suonava bene e ora ha qualcosina in più. Il prodotto è molto bello da vedere e dà un buon effetto che si sposa ottimamente con le cromature dell'hardware e altre parti o elementi.

used this on my tama club jam. tiny tiny kit with an 18'' bass drum, with single ply remo ambassador coated heads. a large room 10m x 3m. the room was not soundproofed, just a couple of really good home made absorption panels immediately above the kit. before the kick port, the bass drum sounded lost, confused, unfocused, like someone smacking a paper bag with a carpet beater (more or less, i'm sure we've all been there). after the kick port, it was tune-able, deep, tight and focused, both in front of and behind the kit. personally as primarily a jazz player, i've never been invested much in ports of any kind. an ambassador has always been the go to. i never play massively loud or particularly aggressive. in my particular setup, i loved the kit itself (seriously for anyone interested its unbeatable at its price point) but due to the room and circumstances the bass drum needed a lot of work, the heads making the biggest difference. the stock heads just wont do. before you buy one of these make sure you have the right head fitted for your needs. more than that i cant say. for my setup it *literally* worked wonders. i cannot rate it high enough. its expensive for what it is, but, at least for my needs, it made a huge difference. highly recommended
