Great inline style fan , would definitely recommend
This fan is seriously solid. The AC Infinity CLOUDLINE S8 PRO is super quiet for how powerful it is, and the airflow is no joke—it moves a lot of air without sounding like a jet engine. The 10-speed controller is easy to dial in, and it’s nice having that fine control. Build quality feels premium and it just runs smooth and reliable. Definitely overkill for small setups, but perfect if you need strong, efficient ventilation that you can trust long-term.

Seems to be the best of its type on Amazon
Solid performer. Nicely packaged. Very low vibration at all speeds. Quiet at low to medium speeds, but pretty loud at highest, but what can you expect from the electric tornado this thing creates at high speed? It moves a lot of air! I'm using this in a rather unusual way. It is mounted in a network closet to pull in cooling air through a large HEPA filter to cool a rack full of network servers, routers and switches. Looks like it will be running at either speed 3 or 4, both of which are pretty quiet. This closet has depended on convective cooling in the past, but it sometimes got a bit warmer than I'd like in the summer, so this should cure that. Power consumption is very reasonable. I measured 19Watts on speed 4. Power factor is unimpressive though. I measured 30VA on that speed. This is not a big deal for a low wattage device though.

Great fan, can be dangerous though
The fan works great and has a wide range of performance that allows you to run this thing at any speed between silent and very loud. I use mine as part of a DIY ventilation system for an old apartment and it provides loads of air movement and static pressure. At full blast, I measured its power draw at 165 watts. The fan is notably very efficient and can still move a surprising amount of air at its lowest speeds with around just 5-10 watts of power usage. (Though you won't be ventilating a whole space at that level.) One thing to seriously note though: This fan can be a real safety hazard if not used correctly. It should really have some feature to kill the power easier since at full blast this fan will happily consume any nearby debris and probably result in injury if you were to get your hand in it. There is no built in grill or safety screen. The controller allows for the selection of 10 speeds, but requires you to loop through to the highest speed before it will shut off. Additionally, when you remove the controller by disconnection, the fan defaults to FULL power. I had an incident where the fan swallowed a bag of small screws and I had to hastily chase down the power plug in order to shut it off. I guess as a testament to its durability though the fan didn't seem to suffer any damage. I have since included a shutoff switch in-line with the power cord.

Very pleased with these fans - used for home HVAC booster fans
Very pleased with these fans. The PWM motors are precisely controlled with 8 speed options. I'm using to boost A/C cool air up to 2nd level bedrooms from the 7" ducts in the basement. I run them at speed 2 of 8, and they make a HUGE difference in cooling the bedrooms. At speed 2 they are quiet and the air flow is more than adequate. The vertical lift is about 10-11 feet. Very happy overall. As I recall they were $170 each (I bought two. one for each bedroom). At that price they are great values. I made flange plates to easily remove them during the winter (and put in a "splicer" section) only because they are not needed during heating season (heat rises!). Their upper temp rating is 140F so you could use them during winter; they are just not necessary during winter. I live in Michigan. UPDATE: I just answered a question so I'll repost here. I bought the S8 model fans and these return to the previous fan speed setting through on/off/on cycles, which is very convenient for use with a remote control, which I built, that turns the fans on/off when the home thermostat turns my AC unit on/off. UPDATE: 6/28/2020. 2nd season and they are working flawlessly. These are excellent fans. I find the negative reviews are often petty complains or unrelated to the overall design. I have experience with a lot of fan designs and for an in-line fan, these are the way to go. As one other reviewer claimed, buy big and run at a lower speed.

Amazing Product
I have been amazed with this product. And I have been wanting to write a detailed review to highlight the quality of this product, but also to highlight that HVAC booster fans can work despite the negativity found online from the HVAC industry. First of all the quality of these fans is amazing. Very high quality construction and for their size they are remarkably quiet. I am not sure how the manufacturer rates the sounds levels, but at their highest fans speeds they are quit noisy, but for an HVAC booster application you will only need the lower fan speeds which are very quiet. Since my fans are mounted in the attic, the only added noise I hear in the house is the additional air flow coming through the ceiling registry/vent. As for airflow rates, this fan has some ridiculous flow capacity. Literally the first time I fired up the fan with it sitting on my wood flooring, at speed 8 the fan started traveling across the floor like a swamp boat. Now I will mention that if used in an HVAC application, you will need to properly insulate the fan housing to prevent condensation from forming on the exterior of the fan housing. I also questioned what the current load was for these fans and the manufacturer was not able to provide that information, so I took my own current readings. Below are the current loads at each fan speed for the 8" model: 1 - 0.08 amps 2 - 0.10 amps 3 - 0.18 amps 4 - 0.30 amps 5 - 0.48 amps 6 - 0.75 amps 7 - 1.12 amps 8 - 1.52 amps The reason I needed to know the current load for these fans is that in my application I wanted the booster fans to run only when the central HVAC blower was on. To accomplish this I installed a dedicated outlet that is switches on by a Vortex Power Fans AC Current Switch (or current operated solid state relay). The problem is this current switch is limited to handling 2.5 amps. My original plan was to run a relay for each fan, but since I was operating the fans at speeds 1-3 only, I was able to combine the fans on a single current switch. So at the end of the day why did I need these fans? Well my HVAC is poorly laid out with the unit located at one end of the house, so our master bedroom at the other end of the house has a 50-ft duct run, where most of the house is on duct runs less than 20-ft. The air flow loss due to the long duct run caused an average temperate difference of 2.5 degrees, with spikes of 5-6 degrees during the late afternoon sun, as documented by my Ecobee themostat and additional temperature sensors. Since installing the 2 booster fans that route air to our master bedroom, we have completely reversed the temperature difference, so that now our master bedroom averages about 0.5 degrees cooler than the main thermostat. So a full 3 degree temperature swing and that is with both fans running on the lowest speed (1). The reality is, I could have easily gotten away with installing only 1 fan, as I ran a single fan for several days at speed 3, and that was enough to balance our bedroom alone.

Powerful 8" fan but nowhere close to spec power consumption
It's good EC mixed flow fan that feels premium. I own the T6 fans and they consume 37-40w at max. I went with that in mind for the 8" fan and when I saw the specs mention 78w I was really impressed. However, on manufacturers website this is mentioned as Average power. The specs on the Fan itself says 180w which seems more in line with the actual figures. Power consumption: In reality, this was a disappointment in terms of power consumption. It consumes 169w at full speed. That's way more than what specs say. Airflow: Feels to be great. Moves a lot of air. Noise: Speeds 1-6 are okay. Speed mode 7 and 8 are quite loud. These modes significantly draw more power. Speed setting 6 to 8 increased the power consumption two times. Conclusion: Solid inline fan. Quality product. However, they can improve on the warranty of these. 2 years seems to be low compared to competitors ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shootout: 3 duct fans compared. 8" duct fan shootout between Hon&Guan Inline Duct Fan (760 CFM, $125) vs TerraBloom ECMF-200 (710 CFM, $159) vs AC Infinity S8 (807 CFM, $169) Packaging, accessories & build quality. AC Infinity S8 > Terrabloom ECMF-200 >>> H&G 8" S8 came with a 8-speed controller. The duct fan housing itself has a metal bracket. Comes with the required screws/anchors. ECMF-200 also came with good bundle of accessories along with wiring to connect the duct fan without the speed controller. The housing is made of metal and build quality seems good. H&G looks cheap and the housing is made of plastic. The fan mounting mechanism is also plastic. Note: Impeller is plastic on all three. Power Cord length. Terrabloom > AC Infinity >>> H&G The power cord on S8 and ECMF-200 are of good length. The ECMF-200 has a thicker power cord. H&G on the other hand has a really short power cord. You'd need an extension if you're not mounting this near a power plug point. Speed Controller Terrabloom >= H&G > AC Infinity All 3 speed controllers have a fair length to them. The AC Infinity controller looks cooler but the button approach of fixed 8 speeds might not be best to tune for CFM between intake - outlet air pressure balance. The H&G and Terrabloom both have knob to control speed. Airflow & power consumption. AC Infinity >> Terrabloom >= H&G I tested all 3 duct fans with a 8' duct and without ducting. The terrabloom and H&G pushed approximately 6.5-7 m/s of air at max speed while the S8 did 8 m/s. S8 clearly pushes more air but also consumes more power. At max speed the power consumption is around 170w. The ECMF-200 was most efficient one with 80w peak power while the H&G sat at around 130w. Thing to be noted here is the S8 at speed 6 pushes similar amount of air like terrabloom ECMF-200 at 80w. So you've got the option to both run it efficienlty and with higher airflow on the S8. Noise: AC Infinity S8 makes more noise which isn't surprising at all. In fact all 3 fans would be quite noisy at max speeds. You'd need to utilize insulated ducting or noise reducers/dampers. Winner: AC Infinity S8 wins it among the 3. You can run it efficiently and push same amount of air as Terrabloom ECMF-200. Both of these fans outperform the H&G 8" fan. If Terrabloom ECMF-200 costs somewhere around $120-$130 it would've been a good alternative to AC Infinity S8. Unfortunately, when I bought it the S8 was just $10 more than ECMF-200.

**2 year update**. I like it. Depends what YOU want to use it for.
**Update** We leave our HVAC blower on 24/7 to keep air moving around the house. This fan here has been running 24/7 ever since it was turned on. It has never given any problems at all and still runs perfect. Zero complaints. I am actually thinking about purchasing another unit for the other section of the house now. I would buy 3 or 4 more but it would get expensive. We have a longer house with higher ceilings. The north side of the house was always about 5 to 8 degrees different. I purchased this and installed it on a long run to help push air. It pushes a lot of air! We only have it set about half way because it will blow the curtains all over the place. I wouldn't really call this quiet if you will be around the unit when its running on the top speed. You would find yourself talking over it a lot. Now the house seems to be equal temperature which is what I was going for. Installation was pretty simple. I cut out a section of 8" pipe and measured how much the fan body would use. I believe this model for me it came to about 9". I cut 9" off and reinstalled the end coming from the HVAC ducting and then mounted the fan body up, installed the guts and then finished by reconnecting the outlet ducting. I don't notice ANY vibration but I did mount the body with 4 screws tightly to the framing studs of the walls. The unit is down in the basement and nobody hears it running unless you are over by the air vents. Even then you don't hear the unit, you just hear moving air. Hopefully this thing lasts years. I am running it 24/7 like I do with our HVAC blower.

Great Customer Support & products!
The best in the business! I had installed a Cloudline T8 four years ago (2022) as a duct booster fan - worked great! Suddenly stopped working, called Customer Support and Daniel was fantastic! Helped me troubleshoot and determined the fan was the issue - recommended the S8 so I ordered it - 1 hour after delivery I had it installed and reconnected to the controller. Everything synced up perfectly and I’m now enjoying cool air again! Cloudline products are great and their support is the best. If you’re looking for a duct booster fan order a Cloudline they are amazing! Installation is very easy as well

The unit functions as advertised, quiet, vibration free, and powerful
I ordered this unit to be able to recirculate the air within a room through a furnace type filter. I was positively impressed with the quality of this product. It looks nicely finished, simple and elegant. The wiring and the connections are of high quality and workmanship. It has a smooth acceleration, is vibration free, and quite. The speed controller and the temperature/humidity are nicely implemented, easily programable and very versatile. The temperature/humidity sensor is also well designed and easy attachable to any surface. The ability to add a second fan to the same controller is another nice feature. I am very satisfied with this product.

Don’t cheap out!
I cheaped out thinking all these fans are the same, not so! I installed a cheap one for my customer in his commercial space exhausting medical waste air and I had to uninstall it and install this one. When I did my customer was so happy with the airflow the quietness and the control. Totally worth it for me, I’ll always recommend AC Infinity to my customers, it’s totally worth it. Also their support team is top notch, I sent them an email and they responded right away! Now that’s a complete product top to bottom!
