So I desperately needed a device to transfer out large files from my phone to my computer. I have an android, but all my other devices are Apple. I don't care to have a iPhone and I prefer an Android phones functionality. Anyways, this was so helpful and easy to use. It reads on my phone and apple device really well and it's easy to move files to and from. Quality feels great, sturdy and quick.

The Lexar brand is great! The transfer of data is seamless. Versatile as it has the option to store files in both encrypted and unencrypted mode. Fits in your palm or pocket. Can attach it to a key chain or similar apparatus, but one of the connectors will be exposed, as there is no cover. Stable, sturdy design for dual ports, USB-A and USB-C.

Just the right size to move scanned documents to my PC and the dual USB allows me to share with my Chromebook as well. The drive is well built and has a sturdy metal casing. It met all my expectations. Shipping was fast and it arrived with no damage.

I really like the overall quality of this flash drive. The metal housing feels heavy-duty and substantial in your hand, and 256GB is plenty of capacity for what I need. I also have to give Lexar credit for the packaging. It was surprisingly easy to open, which was refreshing considering how Fort Knox some electronics packaging can be. I specifically bought this so I could download larger files to my phone, transfer them directly to the drive using USB-C, and then remove them from my phone. It does accomplish that, but there were two frustrations. First, although the USB-C connector fits my phone, it will not connect properly with my phone case on. I have to remove the case every time I want to use it. For something that’s supposed to make transferring files between devices convenient, that’s a pretty significant annoyance and almost a deal breaker for me. Second, I could transfer photos and other files without a problem, but when I tried transferring an MP4 video, it wouldn’t work. After some Googling, I discovered the drive was formatted as FAT32. I had to remove everything I’d already transferred, reformat the drive to exFAT, and then start again. Once I did that, I was able to transfer the larger file I originally bought it for. I wish it had either come formatted appropriately for larger files or included clearer information about that limitation. Overall, I’m still giving it four stars because it ultimately solved my problem, has plenty of storage, feels very well made, and the packaging was refreshingly painless to open. But having to remove my phone case every time I use the USB-C connection keeps it from being a five-star product for me.

Have way too many devices and too many types - this little gadget has worked miracles and nothing else needed... big enough for the largest video files and well made. Reliable and have used for about six month and virtually hundreds of files... great buy, easy to use and well worth it. Not over sized and fighting to fit into slim area ports - well designed as well as well made!

Excellent USB Drive for moving pictures and files between phone and PC. HOWEVER, the drive needs to be reformatted if you plan on moving or storing files that are greater than 4GB. It comes with a FAT32 file system. Do this: Copy all the drive files and folders (preloaded) to a new folder on your PC. Reformat the drive to the Windows default "exFAT" file system then copy original files from your PC back to the drive. This will allow you to copy movie files and such that are over the 4GB file size limit of the old FAT32 file system. Enjoy!

Having both USB C and A connectors is great!! I’ve had to use both on the same iPad and it worked flawlessly. TRansfer speed is fine — I use the drive mostly to play videos on my iPad that are stored on the USB drive and I have no experienced any playback issues. HOWEVER, the drive feels cheap because the rotating mechanism is loose. Also either the USB A or the C connectors is ALWAYS exposed. It seems kind of obvious that whichever connector is exposed could be damaged easily … say if the drive is in a backpack and the backpack is dropped or heavy things in the backpack bump into the drive.

Compré esta Lexar D40E de 256 GB porque necesitaba una memoria USB‑C pequeña y fiable para mover archivos entre el portátil, el móvil y la tablet, y la verdad es que me ha sorprendido para bien. Es muy compacta, pesa poquísimo y el diseño giratorio metálico da una sensación de calidad que no tienen muchas memorias de este precio. La velocidad es más que suficiente para uso diario: transferencias rápidas, sin cortes y sin calentarse demasiado incluso con archivos grandes. Además, al ser USB‑C, no tengo que estar usando adaptadores ni buscando puertos USB‑A, lo cual es un alivio si usas dispositivos modernos. El acabado en color champán plateado queda elegante y no parece un producto barato. El mecanismo giratorio es firme, no baila, y protege bien el conector cuando la llevas en el bolsillo o en la mochila.

Ottimo prodotto, dotato di doppia uscita permette di passare dati da pc a smartphone o viceversa, rapidamente. La velocita' di caricamento e trasferimento e' notevole. Piccola e compatta ma anche molto robusta in metallo, sembra molto affidabile anche se nei trasferimenti pesanti tende a surriscaldarsi un po'! Per il momento sono molto soddisfatta e ne consiglio l'acquisto!
