Good Camera but Portal Application is Unstable

The camera works well, well enough that I bought another one after using it for about a month. The problem is the application for the iPhone and laptop to access their portal to see pictures and set or update camera settings. I found that several of the advertised features either do not work or do not work consistently. Reported it to their support group and I'm told they are working on it or that although the feature is on the portal it really isn't ready yet (?). After I bought the second camera I found that the Texting feature suddenly stopped working for both cameras. Support indicates a "glitch" they are working on without any idea of when it will be resolved. A number of camera statistics do not actually update on the portal like the battery level. The application is unstable in my opinion. I bought the camera for the cellular features and purchased an AT&T plan. So the fact that I'm paying for features that do not work consistently is very disappointing. The portal application needs some work and the documentation for the product could also use some more detail. We will see if they can get the application bugs sorted out soon.

Great camera and piece of mind!

This camera works really good paired with the larger external battery and solar panel. I havent done anything with it for over 6 weeks. Over 600 pictures taken in that time. I can take a real time picture any time. There are a few features that I will need to figure out but it does seem to work well. If the sun is directly on it you will get false pictures. Its only happened a few times a day when that happens. I used this to watch over our property and it really does give us piece of mind. Might look at getting a second one to watch over our residential property. You can also set the camera to only take the amount of pictures per day you want. That will stop from using up the data plan selected. The only suggestion would be a little higher quality pictures. Its still not bad as they are now.

Definitely worth the money

I really love this camera. I own several none cell cameras, but this one is now my favorites. Not only does it take great quality pictures, but it also gives me the ability to know whats on the camera without having to run and check it like the rest of mine. I also plan to use it to make sure my hunting area is clear before I start into my stand in the winter.Pros:Good image qualityTons of settings (that can be managed remotely)Verizon networkBuilt in screen makes checking pictures and trigger on sight easy.Simple to use once setupReasonable data plans.Phone and web AppConsCan be a bit difficult to get setup (I'm much more technically inclined than some most)Initial cost. Edit—. Man I gave this 1 star on my initial review. I have changed it to 3 stars because of their customer service. 9 days after I shipped my camera, a brand new one was delivered. You can’t ask for anything more.Do not buy this camera unless you want to send it back every 6 months. Bought in June, 2019 and sent back in December 2019. Receive a replacement in January 2020. Put it out 2 days ago, July 2020, and blurry photos again. Here we go with support again.

Also, I wish I could get the pics the camera takes a bit faster than what I do. They take close to a minute to show up on my phone. But since this is my first camera that has all these features, I'm somehwhat pleased.

Different installation than previous cameras can cause confusion.

I have tried to contact this seller for 3 weeks now and nobody answers the phone or calls me back. We have another covert camera that was a breeze to set up and install.After 3 weeks, was finally able to contact the Covert and they walked us through the installation and activation of the camera. Unlike previous versions of the camera, you now have to go through Covert Wireless to get cellular data set up and also use their app.Hopefully now the issue is resolved.

Don't go check your camera, have your camera text you instead

My husband loves to hunt and when he heard about this camera which will send the pictures straight to your phone he had to have it. We ordered this through amazon because the price was better than the local sporting goods store. The pictures are very good for a trail cam.There is a monthly fee for use of the texting/emailing service, but it's not much and is worth it if you don't want your husband going into the woods constantly to check his camera.

Would probably go with a diff camera next time. I bought a reconyx last year, and have had zero problems. I bought 3 of these and first one worked fine then just stopped sending pics. Tech support is only there from 8-5 so if you work during the day, as I do, then you have to call during this time. No on line help available either, really frustrating.

Don’t waste your money

Brutal can’t get it to work, but I’m from Canada so this might be the problem but if so it shouldn’t be sold on a Canadian site. 🙄. Called 3 times can never get anyone to answer the phone, ridiculous to pay so much and can’t even use it.
