Happy with the phone. Easy to use and set up. Good battery life. Big screen. Slightly weighty but doable. It took an unreasonable amount of time to arrive with no proper update. I was particularly on it as was replacing my damaged phone so wouldn't recommend the seller.

I am amazed at how SAMSUNG has managed to optimize this mobile phone to run so smoothly on 4GB of ram. In everyday use apps, it feels as snappy as my 12GB RAM Oneplus. Do not worry about it only having 4GB of ram as SAMSUNG have done wonders here. Updated to UI 8.5 and Android 16 and feels smooth opening apps and doing various everyday tasks. It also looks a lot more expensive than it actually was ( Paid £78.13 in June 2026 for it on a PRIME deal and included SAMSUNG official 25 watt charger and a SAMSUNG official card slot case ). At this price I cannot fault it. When you get it uninstall all the bloatware like Netflix and silly installed games and go into settings and remove silly things like SAMSUNG internet and other SAMSUNG stuff that you simply dont need and change permissions for other things to off and turn off privacy data being sent back to them. Well done to SAMSUNG with its optimization - incredible really. On checking RAM use it was showing that is was using around 2.8GB of the 4GB ram so there is space there for everyday tasks. The speaker is nice and loud and although mono has a good sound to it when playing music or using it as a telephone and loud speaker. Finger print sensor on side button works well.

I bought this phone as a budget day to day phone because it was a good price (£102), and although I knew it is an old model, it is a well-built phone with a fantastic display. I knew that my everyday use didn’t justify spending more on more premium devices, as I have a laptop and audio systems for more serious purposes. Reviews I read praised the long battery life, and I have found this to be accurate - with my usual (admittedly lightish) use, it lasts well over 2 days on a charge and would probably last longer. I was also attracted to the future-proof software support, which should take it well beyond 2030. The display is really good, and compares very well with my wife’s much more expensive i phone, although the cameras aren’t as good, but unsurprisingly at this price and good enough for most things unless you are some sort of photographer or want 4k video, and you probably would have something better to use anyway. The most obvious area where it is possible to see budget cutting is that there are no stereo speakers, just a single speaker. However, I always use blue tooth speakers or headphones to listen to anything that requires decent audio, so again this isn’t a problem either. If you’re after a long-lasting device with years of updates, and you only want normal day to day browsing and communication, with a great display and a fantastic price, this is an excellent phone. If you want better performance for gaming or heavy media use, you should spend more for higher spec, but as an everyday phone that does the basics very well and has a great battery performance as well, this is a good choice. So far I have been impressed.

It was a bit difficult to open sim carrier. The pin has to go in much further to get the carrier to pop up. I thought it was going to have to go back, but son in law got it open as he had got same phone for his mum and had same difficulty. Otherwise good phone.

Finally, secured a Samsung Galaxy 16. So far it seems faster than my old Samsung. It'll take a while to become totally foliar with it, but everything seems intuitive. I recommend this phone.

Bad news first - the charging cable - see photo - is NOT UK spec despite phone being sold as UK version. Its double ended USB-C. Useless in UK. However, the phone itself is great. A BIG upgrade from my very old Honor 6A. Set up and data transfer were easy. Nice, clear UI. Huge storage at 128. Certainly fast enough tor me as I don't Game. TV streaming not bad at all - YT, ITVX etc. Camera takes 'OK' photos but I've set mine to 12mb rather than 50 because I'm only really a Snapper and the old Honor was 12 anyway. Phone volume on Speaker is very loud! Lol. Sound quality for music is the usual pants phone quality - use Bluetooth as there is no 3.5 jack. I guess there are faster, cleverer phones out there with better cameras and more playthings but at this price point its a Winner. Only 3 stars because of the ridiculous, useless, charging cable.

Great cellphone works very nicely and is very fast only issue is warranty is not for South Africa but for UK and Samsung doesn't assist with it.
