LOVE THIS THING
I've had mine for well over five years and still works well. Sticky pads are easy to replace. It's it my kitchen next to our fruit/vegetable bowls and is really effective there. Highly recommend.

Used this for years, still works
Bought the Katchy years ago and still use it with the refills. I store it either next to the garbage or the sink, both locations work well. It's caught all kinds of bugs, from fruit flies to mosquitos. Definitely recommend.

Does work just not perfect.
Does catch some knatt or fruit flies. Even a big fly at times. Works well but could be cheaper in price

Quiet pest control - visual improvement
I can tell that these work from just how quickly the glue traps fill up with tiny pests. I think the glue traps are supposed to last 6months or so, but I probably replace them every month so far - but that's not a complaint, it's because the trap just gets so full so fast so it's definitely working. When I first set them up, it was a little slow to see results, but I wiped a bit of apple cider vinegar over the light and that really helped.I leave it on all the time - so the apple cider vinegar helps act as a bait if it's not dark enough for the UV light to pull in the bugs. But, I can definitely tell it's most effective overnight. The plug is fairly short - so it needs to be located near an outlet unless you have any extender, but it's fairly easy to set up and forget for a while. The fan is pretty quiet. I used to just set up a bug lamp which was really effective, but I don't miss the loud zap every time a bug hit it and then cleaning up their bodies around the area. I didn't like the idea of having to get refill paper periodically, but now that I am seeing the results, I find that I mind way less than I thought I would.

Katchy fly trap
An excellent little device to remove annoying seasonal gnats and little flies. Virtually silent. Cord isn't long so placement may be limited. Ran well for 2 months straight without unplugging. Easy to change the "flypaper" pads. Effective. Would buy again.

Bad Batch?
I just bought replacement sticky pads for this Katchy unit. I had a sudden influx of fungus gnats (on my plants) so I pulled out the Katchy and ordered new sticky pads. The flies are getting trapped in the unit but are walking right across the sticky pads…..and yes I removed the protective paper LOL. The only thing that has stuck are a few moths and the flies that I pushed down into the sticky pad with my finger (the ones that did not fly out when I opened it. Not very impressed. I originally purchased the katchy for my mother who regifted it to me because it did not work for her. Maybe she was right! Although it did seem to work for me at first, currently it seems to be the replacement pads that are not working well. I considered buying an off brand of replacements to see how they would work but I recently picked up a different brand trap at my local hardware store that plugs into the wall and uses a light to attract the insects. This new trap has worked great. The traps have the right amount of stickiness that flies, moths and mosquitoes have stuck well to.I discovered by accident that the CLR cleaner for rust and lime is a great attractant for fruit flies and fungus gnats (I was soaking an item to get rid of rust and came back to a bowl full of flies). So in addition to the new trap I also keep a small dish of CLR lime and rust remover on the countertop and near my plants (I don’t have kids).

This really does work - if your house is dusty you will have to change more often
The Katchy works by using a fan to pull in insects. When I first got it, I noticed after a few days the bugs would get sucked onto the board, but some of the insects could fly away. That's when I realized the dust was also getting sucked in and diminishing the stickiness. So I moved the Katchy to another (less dust prone) location, changed to a fresh board, and that made a huge difference. All the bugs stayed stuck. Highly recommend.
