When I first started working from home, I thought it would just be a few months, so just bought an inexpensive small L-shaped desk for temporary use. Four years later, still working from home, and I now have two large monitors, plus a laptop, and a few other accessories on my small desk, so there’s not much space left for when I want to take some notes during a meeting or such. I installed this tray easily on the right side of my desk and now I can just pop it up and use it for note-taking whenever I need it. It’s small, but certainly big enough for a writing surface. And when I don’t need it, it is folded down out of the way, so it is just perfect. I should mention that because my desk is only about 1/2 inch thick, we were a little concerned that it might eventually break from my pulling the tray up and down, so we decided to put a piece of 1x2 wood between the bottom of the clamp and the desk, to give it a bit more support. It’s not visible at all, and it is noticeably sturdier, so I’m glad we did this.

I was looking for table extensions because I have very little table space and I need room to rest my elbows when in front of the computer for many hours, unfortunately I do not have room in the house for a bigger table. I was browsing these table extensions and found them all to be a little bit pricey for what they are, (I mean... add a little more money and you can buy another table instead...) but whatever, I needed it in my particular case. I must say, despite my expectations, I find it to be extremely well built and solid. I have heavy arms and despite this it does not feel flimsy or anything. I would highly recommend to anyone who has the same needs for table space, it is definitely great quality and easy to build
