Dayton Audio PC83-4 3" Full-Range Poly Cone Driver

I buy these for use in open source smart speakers from FutureProofHome. I'm only driving them at 25 watts instead of their 60 watt RMS, which means I never get any distortion, no matter how loud or how I tune my equalizer. They truly are full-range and have very nice bass response all on their own. Dayton Audio has always been one of the best, and that remains true today.

Perfect for small projects. Well made. Feels solid. High quality sound. It has good "mid" sound. The treble isn't what you get from a high end speaker, and neither is the bass. Need to pair it with a tweeter and software for a more full, well rounded sound. But, it is absolutely rock solid for what it is.

Sounds awsome in a diy platform with little chip amps. Time will tell how it handles the abuse I put it thru. Since who knows I might be clipping them with the cheap amp. But so far after hours of use they work very well still. And show no change in performance You won’t get highs out of them. So don’t get them if you think it will do it all.

Bought this for a DYI soundbar. Sound great and nice compact size.

I have a ton if good to say this speaker sounds great the response graph is great only thing I hate is that dip at 300 that ends at 600 there is some stuff there u can definitely tell is quieter but absolutely do not discount it bc of that it sounds amazing looks pretty good it looks way better in person vs Camera I can not stress the amount of good clear sound out of this even free air I haven't put it in a box yet it just sounds so good for the price a tweeter would most definitely help I'd cross it over around 2k to 4k if you know how after 4 it starts to break up a lot so it would be smart to have there or before a tweeter would absolutely help a good bit but truly it is not needed I would recommend this for tight spaces you will not get bass out of this without having distortion or if u don't u need a well engineered box tuned well with the right cubic feet but it doesn't handle bass well I have it crossed at 80 ish bc that's it's fs I thing that's a place to bc u can still have a sub with it without having frequency gaps overall if your on the fence and have the money and u want it for a desk speaker or a sound bar I think it's an amazing option and I'd get it

Oh these are so good in the right enclosure. Beautiful sound and presence. The enclosure matters, but in the right one, these are beautiful!

Great quality speakers but I returned them cause they came used the tweeter was pushed in and they were scratched up

these are loud speakers, excellent bass reflex, clear sound highs are perfect. well done.

I received a refurbished cone with old magnet speaker. Which doesn't have the capacity ti produce even high range frequency. Not recommended this product.
