Lamson Walnut Chestnut Knife

There is a lot to like in this chestnut knife. First, it is the classic blade design which means good leverage and great safety to my fingers. Second, unlike my first chestnut knife (now lost) the metal of the blade is better steel. It is smoother/shiny, so cuts and cleans better, easier. Lastly, the wood handle is also still the same simple handle, but polished and even branded nicely. This is the chestnut knife for safe, easier and effective chestnut prep and shelling. It is a specialty knife BUT......it actually works very well. When cutting the chestnuts you are in control of the movement. I cut plenty with normal kitchen knives but was always dicing with cutting my finger tips. So if you are into chestnuts and keeping your finger tips this is a worthwhile investment.

Well made knife. Easier than using a flat bladed knife to cut chestnuts, though care must be exercised when making cuts.

Chestnuts are a hard nut to crack but the chore is made easier with the proper tool. This US made knife is the proper tool. If you roast chestnuts, you will love this knife as it makes the job quicker. Safer too, with less chance of slicing your finger from a slipped knife. Buy it!

I am so thrilled to use this great knife this year since we've had a bumper crop on our one chestnut tree (20 quarts of nuts). In the past, In the past, I have used nice, sharp kitchen knives and have dreaded the work on the nuts because of contortions needed and hand cramping. This knife changed everything. It is just the right shape to make the job safer and easier.

I was skeptical. I couldn't see how a simple knife would make it easier to score chestnuts for roasting. When I came to Amazon, I was looking for something more like a punch. But the price was right, so I bought it. And it works! Makes it so much easier and faster. Safer, too. Now that it's the holiday season, the local store is stocking chestnuts, and I'm glad to have my chestnut knife.

Bin richtig entäuscht, der Holzgriff ist rauh,ausgefranst und hat mehrere Kratzer. Die Klinge ist stumpf und hat im hinteren Bereich einen Metallgrat den man nur mit einer Schleifmaschine wegbekommt.Leider kann ich für so einen Schrott keinen einzigen Sten vergeben! Möchte auch anraten diesen Artikel nicht zu bestellen.

This knife is absolutely perfect for cross-cutting chestnuts for roasting. Fits well in the hand and it's sharp, curved blade make the task a breeze!
