Perfect replacement for my failing '68 Super Reverb tank
I have a vintage 1968 Fender Super Reberb (not a reissue) that I acquired recently. The reverb never sounded right, compared to my Fender Deluxe Reverb. It was very fizzy, weak, and barely there. I replaced it with this MOD tank. It's now perfect. Immense. Lush. But controllable too. The reverb is now SUPER again! The only caveat to be aware of is that the female RCA connectors were color-coded OPPOSITE from the RCA cables of my amp. You would think you would connect it Red to Red and White to White, but that didn't work for me – I had to do Red to White, and White to Red. No big deal. It's hard to go wrong, really. Just connect it up how you think it should be, and if it doesn't work then just swap the RCA cables around. Easy peasy.

Worked well in Super-Sonic 22 combo
I'm very pleased with this Reverb tank. I bought it to replace an Accoutronics in a Fender Super-Sonic 22 combo, and it worked great. I also have a Deluxe Reverb (still almost brand new) that contains an Accutronics tank, and I would be satisfied with either tank -- but this one cost less. In fact, I tried the accutronics tank connected to Super-Sonic, and I think I like the Mod tank better. Longevity? TBD...I will report back at some point.Pros- Cost effective- Good sound, full & lush.- Easy to installCons- None so far

Fender Twin Reverb Tank Replacement
Replaced the original Reverb Tank in my '73, Fender Twin Reverb. Original one was being very noisy, transducers I suppose, and quality of Delay was going way down. This 4AB3C1B looked like the best Reverb Tank replacement for Fender Amps. The install is super easy and I was not disappointed with the reverb the amp now has. Can't comment about the longevity of the Tank only time will tell, but if you look at the price of old Fender amps and buying one these days, the price of this tank if it only lasts for a year is a value. The seller (Amplifiedparts.com) thru Amazon was very friendly writing me a personal note and enclosing it within the shipping box letting me know his Phone # and telling me he was there to help me with any problems I might encounter.Seems like Amazon has got there Shipping back on track as well, Not having any problems ordering from Amazon these days.Lanny W Barnett

Maybe it was mislabeled? Decay much shorter and brighter than original accutronics.
I don't know if my tank was mislabeled or not, but it does not sound good. The original Accutronics 4AB3C1B (which sounded great) in my reissue Super Reverb died. I bought this MOD 4AB3C1B to replace it. This had a much shorter decay than the original and the sound was much brighter and quite tinny. It was also wired backwards. Would not purchase again. Am now trying to decide if I should just get an Accutronics again.

Sounds Great.
Bought this tank for a Fender Pro-Reverb which had a broken tank. When I first installed the tank, the reverb still wasn't working. It took me a little bit to figure out that, when I plugged in the RCA cable into one of the jacks on the new tank, the metal receiving part on the inside of the tank broke off (it may have been broken in the transit, I wasn't looking for broken parts before I plugged it in). I don't know if the old Fender RCA cables are a little bit thicker than modern ones, though it seems like they might be. It was easy to work around this as I plugged the cable into the jack, and then slipped the metal receiving part over the tip of the plug inside the tank. The tank works fine now, and I have no reason to believe that it won't work, as all the grips are snug. I was a bit disappointed that it broke as I was installing it, but fortunately the fix wasn't hard and it works fine now. The reverb sounds great, and I'm glad to finally have a Pro-Reverb with a working reverb. I would have given it 5 stars if the part didn't break off. I thought about 3 stars since it broke so easily, but I figured out how to fix it easily and it sounds good.

Worked in a Fender, sounded like it should
Went in a '78 Princeton Reverb, sounded exactly like it was supposed to. Much more rugged construction than the originals, although the wires are still thinner than a human hair and still are prone to break if you sneeze while holding the amp. However this is still an improvement since the originals broke if you sneezed in the general direction of the amp. Plus the contacts are mounted to silicon PCB and not phenolic plastic that melts if you look at it too intently, so resoldering those little tiny wires to make it work again is a lot easier. All in all, I find these MOD reverb tanks a lot less hassle than others.

This Mod tank is better made. I looked at both
I bought one of these to replace a current production Belton Accutronics tank. This Belton Accutronics tank, even though it was new, had a loose spring that caused severe rattle and crash if the amp was even very slightly moved. This Mod tank is better made. I looked at both, side to side, and while I'm no expert on reverb tank construction, I would without hesitation take the Mod tank every time. I no longer have sever crash when the amp is bumped. The tone and sound of the reverb is similar, maybe the very slightest smidge warmer than the accutronics....mostly in that it has a warmer decay.
