Definitely recommend for first plane
THIS is a plane for all beginners. I will say this is my third plane and I had three successful flights. I was a bit skeptical after watching videos about which planes were great for beginners, and testing and badly damaging the first two. The first plane was very light, which turned into a fight in 5 mph wind and not being able to land in the field that I was flying, but instead landing in the road and having someone run over it. The second plane was very big, it had big wheels, I could fly that thing well in pretty high winds, had one successful flight in 20 mph gusts. Until one day during takeoff i nose dived into the ground. The reason these two stories are important in because my maiden flight with this plane was the best of both of my first two planes. This plane was a little difficult to fly in the 10 mph winds, but I still maintained control of it, even though it is as light as the first plane. I got a LOT of altitude, which was a bit scary if Iโm being honest (the higher it goes the higher the winds). I was able to cut it into the wind and then the scary part..... I had to nose it down to bring it in closer for my preparation for landing. The most awesome thing happened though, I did NOT have to pull back to get it level! It leveled out perfectly as soon as I put it back center. I had three successful flights, with a little wind, it was awesome to allow the glide effect and just enjoy the flight time. I recommend THIS for anyoneโs first plane. You can tell the durability from others like it, and it definitely has a forgiving flight stability that allows the beginners to understand the flight patterns. Update: i took a risk in 15-20 mph gusts, I would not suggest doing such a thing for beginners, the plane was all over the place, I thought that I was going to lose the plane at one point but was able to recover. Had the battery entered into low power mode, I most like would have lost it. However I was able to make a pretty rough landing. The plane is fine, I did get it back in the house in one piece. VERY durable, even after wrecking into a tree. VERY worth the money to learn how to fly. My experience level is now 20 full hours of flight. UPDATE 2: I have flown this for more than 80 hours now. Probably going to need to get some battery replacements at this point. Iโm not getting the 15 minutes of flight any longer. Itโs more around 10 minutes on two of them, Iโm not sure if the third battery is ever getting charged. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. But this plane has definitely served THE purpose. It has taught me a great deal about flying. Iโm now waiting on a larger scale of this model of plane. Itโs still in great working order and Iโm still as pleased as I was with the maiden flight. Iโm moving up to a 1400mm model that seems to be the next step. Although Iโm very shocked at how well this particular model can do tricks (inverted flight for a few seconds , sort of air stalls, loops, etc.) it still lacks maneuvers because of the lack of ailerons. Again, Iโm going to keep this running until the rudder falls off, itโs such a fun little plane that is so durable and is easy to fly in 25 mph wind (for the more advanced flyer). Iโm now ready to move on to the knife edge, air stalls, snaps and other such tricks.

It does fly.
Okay, I'm no pilot. It took me a couple of tries before the plane took flight. Most important is the plane must be thrown pretty hard before it will fly. Since you really need a second person to launch the plane so you can have both hands free to operate the control, this what I did since I didn't have that second person.. The way that worked for me was throttle up the motor, then hold the control in your right hand while keeping the elevator control held so the elevator was in the up position. (lever down) Throw the plane as high and as far as you can. If you're lucky, the plane will take flight. If not, it'll nose into the ground. This plane will not take off from a stand still! It must be thrown into the wind! Those that say that this plane will only nose into the ground haven't a clue about how this plane works. Once in the air it took a minute or so to get the feel of the controls, and the plane, but what a blast once figured out. The plane will only fly for about 5 minutes under medium throttle with short bursts of full throttle before the battery gets low. You can tell that the battery is low because the sound of the motor will get quieter, and the motor does not preform as well when the battery is getting low...listen for the change. I would say this is a fun plane, and is easy to fly. Not so sure about younger kids tho, but if they do well with video game controllers then they should have no problem with this plane, since 90% of flying it is the proper use of the control. Me... I flew it for 5 minutes, changed the battery, flew it another minute or 2...and spent the next 3 hours trying to free it from a 30' high tree branch. lol. No kidding, this is a lot of fun for the price. Seems well made, and is forgiving of lower speed ground crashes.. Good luck and happy flying. Up date. This plane was an ok deal at 99 dollars, but is not woth the 109 dollars that they are now asking for the same item. To the seller...quite trying to pick your customers pockets.

Literally CAUGHT FIRE second time using it!
I bought this plane for my grandson, based on it being easy to use with stabilizing gyros. It worked well the first time out although it was a little underpowered. My grandson made a number of short flights of less than a minute each, getting familiar with the controls. The second time out, he made a few quick flights and it seemed to be working properly. He was comfortable with the controls, so he made a longer flight around the field and after a couple of minutes it quit responding to the controls. It continued to fly straight and level even when he reduced the throttle to zero and set the elevator control to bring it down. It ending up landing in the street. The only external damage was a broken propeller. When we examined it more closely, the wiring inside the plane had overheated and the insulation had CAUGHT FIRE, To see the damage you had to open the battery cover. I have attached photos to the review that I sent to EXHOBBY expecting to get a replacement for a CLEARLY DEFECTIVE plane. One picture shows the burnt wiring. The other two show the top and bottom views of the plane showing the exterior in almost new condition. This wasn't the result of a crash or other misuse of the plane. When they received my information, they replied offering me an unspecified discount on the purchase of another plane. I requested a replacement and they quit responding to my emails. They were sending me sales emails, and read receipts verified that they received my follow up emails. The read receipts indicated the email was being forwarded to Hong Kong, so I figured I had no further recourse with an overseas company. I ended up having to buy a replacement plane for my grandson from another brand and seller. The purchase of this plane was a compete waste of money and only disappointed my grandson. This product is UNSAFE and the seller doesn't give acceptable support. DO NOT BUY!!!

Check out the update! Good for one flight, never to return!!!
UPDATE: The seller contacted me. After answering their questions I was offered a 25% discount on a new plane (plane only). The plane only so happened to be on sale at that time too. After receiving the new plane it was several days before it could be tested out. This time my husband made for sure to put his name and phone number on the plane before taking it outside. The whole family showed up to watch the first of many flights, hopefully. He tossed the plane up and it took off. It responded to all the controls and he thoroughly enjoyed flying it. He landed and took off several times. This was the experience we were hoping for the first time. I got this plane for my husband for Christmas. He had read up on it and wanted one so he and the grandkids could enjoy it. He read all the material and followed the instructions, not once but about 3 different times. The weather and wind conditions were not right so he would get it out of the box and go over everything again waiting for the weather to be just right. The day finally came when the sun was shining and the wind was 5 to 6 miles an hour. My husband, two of our grandchildren and one of our daughters went to an open area for the first flight. Sadly it turned out to be the only and last flight because the plane quit responding to controls and took off to parts unknown. We have the box and controller but no plane. We have even posted on Facebook just in case someone finds it. My husband was the only person to deal with the plane and he had done everything he was supposed to except to put his name and phone number on the plane before ever taking it outside. He does have drones but he wanted to try a plane. We are very disappointed in this product.

Good value for price. Good second plane or maybe starter.
This is a good second plane or maybe a starter plane. My son started with a plane where speed also controlled elevation so there were only two controls - one for speed/elevation the other for turning. This plane has an elevator so speed and altitude can be controlled independently. So itโs one step more complex than his starter - but only one step. There is no rudder or aileron so itโs not too complex. I like the propellers on the side and not up front so that when you crash it doesnโt damage the propeller. The foam is durable. The battery door is a bit tight so I just broke it off. Donโt expect perfection - realize that itโs a decent deal for the price. If you want perfection youโll have to pay more. But this is a lot of fun to fly and a great first or second plane. Iโd give it a 4.75 if I could.

Great for beginners !
If your looking for a beginners plane for your kid or grand child look no further this is the one ! My grandson who just turned 12 was flying this thing in "beginners mode" like a champ the very first time. Granted he's experienced flying drones but this is a whole different animal. The plane is very light and sturdy. The motor is in the back instead of the nose so its protected from nose dives and busted propellers however he didn't nose dive once with the gyro stabilization which keeps the plane flying level and straight when your not turning, climbing or diving. It comes with 2 batteries and depending upon how you fly the battery can last longer or shorter because you can control the speed of the motor which besides saving battery life it also gives a beginner more control over the plane. You can fly slower and have more time to correct mistakes and learn. As you get better you can fly faster but of course that means using more battery power. Itโs fun to get the plane up to 300 feet or so, cut the engine and let it glide back down nice and slow. The battery can last for about 15 to 20 minutes, again depending upon how fast you fly and for how long. The battery takes only about a half hr to charge. I bought 2 extra batteries and two extra charging cables so he can fly for over an hour and he can charge 3 out of the 4 batteries at once. The best time to fly is low wind conditions 5-7 mph or ideally no wind. This plane is extremely light so it doesn't take much wind to effect it. Early evening when the sun is going down the wind is usually dying down or some days when its over cast its calm all day. The day my grandson flew his for the first time the wind was about 5-7 mph and he did fine. We were on a 3 diamond baseball field surrounded by trees. He kept the plane lower to the ground so it was less effected by the wind. Later that day we went back at 6:00 pm when the wind was almost nonexistent and the plane flew much more smoothly and we could climb higher. Get this plane its fun for everybody !

Ranger 600 is pretty good
Donโt know why ppl saying that this plane is bad โฆI flew today for first time and only bad thing I can say is that the battery that is supplied works but is too light for glider and motor needs to be stronger along with propeller needs to be bigger as well as a three blade to push better โฆI bought some 3.7v 600mah and plane flew perfect as well as lasting well over 30 mins while gliding โฆI put three Pennieโs in nose with the 500s and it flew similar to the 600โฆIโm sure this plane could handle 800s as easy as it flew with the 600s

Excellent Beginner Airplane
After having experimented with a lot of entry level RC airplane products, I finally found exactly what I was looking for in a beginner airplane. Here is what I liked most: - It came ready to fly, straight out of the box. All it needed was for the transmitter (aka remote control) to have 4 double A batteries loaded, and for one of the batteries to be charged to 100%. There are optional landing gear that take about one minute to install or uninstall. - Binding the remote to the airplane was very easy. - Flying in beginner mode was a breeze. You do need to understand the basics of how an RC airplane is controlled, so watch a video on youtube before flying if its your first time. - The airplane is very light and the propeller pops off cleanly when it crashes. The foam used for the airplane's body feels sturdy and flexible. - It's surprising fast and maneuverable, even with beginner mode turned on. This would be a great toy for kids 8 and up, but I would definitely make sure to learn alongside and supervise kids up to 11 or 12 years old before you let them fly it without active supervision.

Awesome beginner plane!
Love this little plane and so easy to fly for a beginner. I liked it so much in fact, I ordered a soceond one. Seems very fragile handling it out of the box but it's surprisingly rugged. I crashed it straight into the ground at full throttle and the propeller popped off. Snapped it back on and took off again. Highly recommended for this price point.

Great rc plane
This is a great plane a little pricey for what you get. Just want to put this out there my son was on his second flight when the wind took it out of his control and got lost in a corn field looked for hours but couldnโt find it. Wish it had a light or something to send signals to find it. Would be nice. Little guy cried for hours. So sad. Other then that fun Rc Plane.

Cheaper quality than it looks, but still good and flyable.
Item arrived as expected, quickly and in good condition. All the relevant information is in the title really. I bought it as a gift, and he was happy with it, so I'm not disappointed. Thank you seller.

Great little plane
Having never flown anything before, I was a bit nervous with the first few flights, but the beginner mode on the gyro makes it pretty easy to fly. With the mechanical trims adjusted and a dozen flights under my belt it's very easy to confidently fly around the small park near my house, even in a decent wind For the first few times I would definitely recommend the largest field you can find in order to get comfortable with the controls without the pressure of dodging trees and light posts lol. And order a pack of spare props that come with the hub that goes on gearbox shaft. The hubs do wear out, and the props are easy to lose if you clip a tree branch. I painted the tips of a few props florescent yellow to make them easier to find in the grass. Switch it into intermediate mode and the controls get way more responsive, if it starts getting out of control, a quick flip of the switch back to beginner mode and the plane levels out.
