Biggest Benefit - Simplifies Cutting and Stripping of Romex Jacket
PROS: Klein is considered a trusted maker of high quality electrical tools and is one of the top brands used by professionals. This one tool takes the place of a knife, a wire stripper, wire cutters, and needle nose pliers (for bending wire). It's small enough to carry in your pocket. It's faster than using multiple tools to prepare Romex, once you get the hang of it. It's safer than using a knife to slice the Romex PVC jacket down the middle. The length of the tool is designed to match the length of jacket you'll want to strip for the wires to go into a typical junction box. Cons: The tool works best with 14-gauge Romex. I tried it on 12-gauge and had a hard time getting the conductors stripped without them being nicked by the stripping blades. It's sometimes difficult for the tool to cut the Romex jacket and paper wrapping once it's been separated from the conductors. I'll need to practice that more. I'm not an electrician, but a homeowner who occasionally does projects involving 120 VAC wiring. I wish I had discovered this tool 20 years ago (if it existed). In the past I've always used an X-Acto knife to slice the Romex jacket down the middle where the ground wire is, so that I wouldn't damage the hot and neutral conductors. It always seemed a bit dangerous and I worried about the knife slipping. This tool slices the jacket properly and fairly easily, once it's correctly positioned on the end of the Romex. It's a great and inexpensive tool for occasional use, but I have to wonder how long the cutting surfaces will last if used by a professional. Overall, I'm happy I found it.

Works great. Not intuitive.
Works great. Not intuitive but once you know how to use it a great tool.

Great product but often snags when splitting sheath
Overall Great product. Nice and Compact. The stripper is easy to use especially in tight spaces. I also love the magnet. Only compliant is that when splitting the sheath half the time it will snag on the paper inside and jump off the romex. This ends the cut prematurely which is not a great spot to be in when in tight spaces. In those cases the splitter won't get back on the line so I end up just using my knife to finish the cuts like I used to. I did note that if there is a slight bend or kink in the line this is more likely to happen. Seems to happen less frequently if line is stright off the roll and doesnt have any slight bends in it.

Way better than I expected
I used to use a combo tool for this - we all know the type. 47-functions-in-one, none of them good. But rip/strip/curl is such a common task when you're roughing in 100 outlet/switch boxes that I figured I'd give this a try. I'm glad I did. Those three things are pretty much all this does, but it does them really well. You have to be a little thoughtful when stripping 12AWG to not push the wire in too hard and nick the copper, and the "loop" holes are a little funky until you get used to them but overall it's insanely fast for such a common rough-in task. I feel like the magnet is a waste tho.

Decent budget option, but requires extra effort
This tool works, but it takes some finesse and a bit more effort than I expected. Stripping the jacket requires noticeably more force, though it does a good job cutting it off once you get through. For line and neutral wire stripping it performs well, and the circular bending feature is solid and easy to use. A cheaper option, so the extra effort is probably expected, but not as smooth as higher-end tools.

Very handy tool. Does everything it says it does. Makes the job so much easier

Great to use just a single tool for a quick job. I’m not sure it’s the easiest or will be the most durable for bigger jobs.
