Time for a retro change! The “ Replacement Faceplate for iPod Classic 5th Generation Video A1136 - Clear” plate is for the face of an iPod, and be sure its the 5th gen classic. There’s a variety of them. The clear plate screen protector is stiff. It made me a bit scared to open the back panel, as I was wondering if the light shined through the black backing or what. Silly me, but you remove the back and front plastic covers before installing. It took me a second, but you dont want to rush these upgrades. Quality: it is a nice thick plastic. The tangs on the side are thick, so you can exert some pressure and not be afraid of it breaking. The black tape/pad has bubbles in it, so I am on the fence with the quality being a 4 or 5. It’s solid, but the application of the black rubber couldve been better (and if youve tried DIYing it its a bit difficult to do adhesive considering this is a tight space). Overall: Really like this and put it together as a gift! Waiting on other parts to complete my old-new iPod, and I love the retro clear. It adds to the uniqueness and simplicity. I can also keep an eye on corrosion if any and all the tabs align, it fits well, and opens well. I was waiting for this because my used one is all cracked.

Good replacement, my only complaint is more of a picky situation. The black foam that borders the front screen isn’t glued completely. It looks like it’s a plastic protector that needs to be peeled but isn’t. Otherwise it was shipped in a cushioned package and came intact

Looks good and fits well. A great replacement for my ipod video 5th gen. It's known that first-party Apple parts will have the perfect fit and there's really only one Chinese factory manufacturing these third-party parts now, but this does fit well. One thing I didn't like was that I had to punch out the black plastic behind the screen and it was difficult to peel that off without damaging the part that's supposed to stay on that borders the screen. Now the front looks new but the click wheel and button look old and worn, so those will be next!

I have the iPod 5.5 and honestly it doesn’t fit right :(. Super disappointed

Im very excited about this mod to my Ipod 120 Gb, Im pairing this with a new screen, SD card reader and a bigger battery, overall it will feel like a new device!. the quality of this faceplace is pretty good, all tabs seems to be in the correct place, I test place it on my replacement back shell and it fits perfectly, I had a plastic between them to be able to remove them easily as this devices get damaged when you try to open them and I didnt want to damage my new faceplate and backplate. Very happy about this faceplate overall!

I have always been a huge fan of clear tech and was so happy to see this. Installation is a bit involved but with the right tools I think anyone who is a bit technically inclined could perform the face plate swap. The fit of face plate to the frame was a bit of a squeeze but not a huge issue. The overall look with the original white click wheel is awesome and I am so in love with how the iPod looks, it is a bit pricey compared to other face plate options but I would highly recommend this one as it is very well made and has zero visible blemishes in the clear plastic.

This is a neat looking replacement and was useful for an iPod I've been fixing up. Plastic quality seems nice and there are protectors on both sides of the screen to help minimize any dust that may get trapped. The inner liner was a bit difficult to remove, since the black foam is a solid panel with the center portion pre-cut. You actually have to peel it out, and it's difficult to remove that without the border attached to the case coming off as well. But a few plastic case tools helped me with that. It feels like this faceplate may be slightly thicker than the original ones, and there may be slightly more room for the scroll wheel. So it feels like there's a little bit of looseness to the scroll wheel but it's not to the point where I would be concerned about it feeling fragile. Also It's worth pointing out that if you're using a Classic Connect kit you'll want to remove the tab at the very top of the case. I forgot this until I had already attached the faceplate to the frame, so removing the tab was a bit of a pain. But that shouldn't be an issue for anyone using the standard iPod back.
