Good product
This kit saved me a lot of money. I was able to repair, instead of replace, the very large blind in our camper. I would say it was a medium difficulty task as I had never done it before. It would have been an added benefit if the kit included replacement end clips as mine were older and broke when being handed. I ordered them separately. But for the items that do come in the kit, they worked wonderfully. And the instructions were a big help too.

Just what we needed for our repair
I have to say, I was skeptical how this was going to go when my husband wanted to try and repair our rv blind. This kit worked great! It was not too difficult to do. The blind was in great shape. The sting was the only issue and this took care of it. We still have plenty left for any other blinds that need repaired too.

I'm just happy it's available
When my RV shade broke, I thought, "Oh, no! Where am I going to find a replacement that is the right size, matches the ones I have, and what will it cost? I found this, and it saved my day. I rated it five stars just based on availability and that it works at all, despite three stars on the usability issues. It's not super easy to do - but, the videos help a lot. It's just a bit of a beast process. I note that my original shades are tied to the anchors at the bottom in some strange way, with two lines going down to each anchor. I'm not willing to tear one apart to see how they've done it. I followed the instructions and got the broken shade repaired. It took two tries - the first time the bottoms weren't tight enough and it pulled out. Second time worked better. The shade is back in place, and it works well enough. Now, I have to do the bigger one over the couch.

Good instruction sheet, but cords are a little thick.
Did restring an RV day night shade with this kit, but it took me about 2 hours. I found the cords oversized compared to the original and difficult to get thru the grommets. I made aglets (look it up) on the end of the cord by using super glue gel, smoothed them out with plastic wrap, and was able to thread them thru the eyelets. You need a push tool, like a 1.5 mm crochet needle (not a hook). Read the instructions once before you start, then pay attention as you take the shade apart. Look at a couple of U-tube videos too.

Kit works great.
This is the kit to have to repair your OEM pull down shades. Yes, it can seem a daunting task. Especially if the shade uses 4 strings. There are several You Tube videos that provide great instructions. I spray the strings with dry lube before install. Be sure to leave strings long enough as the original anchor location may need to be changed. A few of our screws broke off in the panels. Be sure to have strings only tight enough to hold shade in place after moving. If too tight the strings will not last. String tension may need adjustment over time. Screws other than the original ones in kit can be used as we had to for our application.

Exactly what I needed.
The directions were clear. This was exactly what we needed for our travel trailer. We had 2 shades that had broken cords. It was so annoying camping with broken shades. They were unsightly and cumbersome and threatened to tear. Replacement shades are over $100 each and who knows if they have my exact size. This kit promised to alleviate my concerns and it delivered. For $16 I repaired both shades to 100% working order and I can get back to continually overlooking them! Took about 45 minutes on the first one but only about 20 minutes on the second one because I figured it out. I could do one in 10 minutes now which will be perfect if I have an issue when weโre traveling. I only used 2/5 strings and I saved my old springs so I can still repair at least 3 more shades. This saved me over $450 in replacement costs!

Repair kit for a crappy design
Kip comes complete with everything you need to repair pleated shades. I must say we got rid of our shades and put curtains up because the sun continually bakes those strings and they break regular. I would advise anybody who has those to take them out, throw them in the trash and put curtains up a lot easier and simpler
