Excellent Performance and Versatility
I bought this back in September of 2025, right before prices on computer hardware exploded, and was able to build a nice Linux-based computer for about $3,100 or so. I chose this CPU as I wanted a 12-Core CPU due to me wanting to use the computer not just for gaming - but also for other tasks such as video editing, server hosting, and so on where the extra cores really come in handy. It is slightly weaker for gaming than the 8 core CPU AMD offers in the same line, but that difference hardly matters in 99% of cases and in the end I got a more powerful CPU for other cases for a good deal. It has performed very well, and while it generates a fair bit of heat it's nothing that a decent $100 or $150 CPU cooler can't handle. I have a Noctua cooler for my part, a similar model to the one I used back when I built another computer all the way back in the year 2010 or so, and I suspect this will continue to serve me well for years to come. I recommend this CPU to anyone in my situation - someone who needs a powerful CPU that can handle basically any task you throw at it, including gaming and editing. It isn't perfect for any specific task but it's the ultimate jack of all trades and for the price I got it at definitely worth the money. Of course with hardware prices being what they are nowadays, make sure you shop around.

A beast of a processor
It's a beast. AMD's generated 5600G series themselves are still not entirely irrelevant till now. So with its 12 cores, 24 threads, I hope it will remain relevant for next 6-8 years easily. And forget about being stressed, everything for it looks to be just a walk in the park with utilisation barely going beyond 10% during gaming of modern FPS and racing tiltles of 2020s, even if we consider maximum load on the GPU. It does not come with a bundled cooler, but right so. With its all those fire powers, an aftermarket Good quality liquid cooler is a must in my view. Temperature remains around 46 to 55 degrees at idle to near idle state and it gets heated up quickly to 70-75 degrees even when utilisation just increase to 10%-12% momentarily, before the cooler kicks in. As all we know, price is not a VFM these days with AI demand disrupting hardware pricing driving nuts...

It runs Minecraft and muck well
I had an Intel core i7 14700kf but 14th gen intel is very unstable and crashes with everything so I switched to AMD it runs all games and programs well and it’s good for streaming but I do wish it had more cores for a Ryzen 9 when the Intel Core i5-14600K which is basically the lowest end cpu intel has from that gen (no one would buy an i3) has more cores but it’s easy to cool if you have an AIO and it’s powerful.
