Great quality, Exceptional Rear view.
I drive a Mazda CX5. I did not notice at first, but, because of the head rests in the back seats, I have very limited field of view from the factory rearview mirror. This became very noticeable a few weeks ago when I broke my driver's side mirror. I suddenly realized, without that mirror, I have a huge blind spot on the left side of the car. To remedy this, I began looking at rear camera systems. I was immediately drawn to the Audio Vox V2 because of the way the entire mirror is used as a rear view cam. It is stunning. Now my car literally has no blind spot what so ever. As cars pass on either side, I pick them up in my side mirrors while they are still visible on the rear cam. It is remarkable and worth the price just for that. Both front and rear cameras are very clear and sharp. Lighting can be quickly adjusted by swiping the screen either right or left. The controls are straight forward, but a bit basic. I like bells and whistles and the unit could benefit from some added playback features, but that is a minor issue. I like the Lane Departure Warning System. It works flawlessly whenever I switch lanes. though I will probably use it only for highway driving and keep it off in the city. The Drive Mode is a nice feature. With the camera display turned off the unit functions as a standard analog mirror that displays speed and direction information. I am very satisfied with the quality and functionality of the unit and recommend it to prospective buyers. But I save the best for last. For some reason, the cigarette charging cable stopped working. Not sure what was happening I contacted Customer Service. They at first helped me trouble shoot the problem, but when we narrowed it down to the cable they immediately sent out a new cable and charger. Purchasing a quality piece of technology is one thing, but having confidence in the company and their customer support makes for a top quality purchase all around. You can buy the Audio Vox V1/V2 with confidence that you are getting value for your money.

Good camera great customer service.
I originally purchased the X1 unit. After I had the unit completely installed into my truck I found 3 problems. 1) The Camera button would not take a photo. 2) The parking mode sensitivity won't go into low. The button worked on high and off but not low. 3) The volume button worked on high and medium but won't turn off. I emailed customer support and Elena helped me try to resolve the problem. After multiple emails and trying to update the firmware we determined that the unit was defective. Elena had me return the unit for a refund. I decided to upgrade to the X2 unit. I ordered that unit and installed it. So far it works perfectly and I am very happy with it. Customer service was great to work with and although I was a little frustrated with the first unit. I am happy with the second. Auto-Vox even gave me a discount for my troubles. I would recommend this company for their great customer service. I have 2 minor complaints about the unit. 1) As other reviews mentioned some times in bright daylight the mirror has almost too much reflection and it makes it hard to see the screen. The answer it to move the mirror either up or down to remove the reflection like when someone has their high beams on behind you. 2) For my mirror the mounting points were not wide enough. They should have been about another inch wider and slightly off set away from the camera. I would recommend this unit for anyone wanting an automatic front and rear dash cam and backup camera. I also like the GPS, digital speedometer in drive mode, and compass. To watch the video with speed and location you have to install the program that is loaded onto the memory card. Format the memory card on the camera then put it into your computer and install the program labeled DVR Player V2.0. I do wish that a more robust video player software was included with the camera. The LDWS works but is a little to touchy for me. It beeps when I even get close to the lines. I mounted this on a full size pickup, crew cab, 6.5' bed. The rear camera cable was long enough to go from the rear view mirror to the rear view camera I mounted below the center of the tailgate with cable to spare. I purchased the optional fuse holder/low battery disconnect/noise suppression wiring harness which hid the power wire and made the installation look clean. It took some time to route everything but I ended up with a very good looking and very functional installation.

Excellent, well-built product that delivers
I bought this for my 16 year old daughter to use in a lightly used 2001 Honda Accord that I have owned for since it was brand new. The installation was shockingly easy for me to do it myself, thanks to some great how-to videos on YouTube (a local AV shop wanted $700 LABOR ONLY to install one for me!!) The rear-view backup camera, which engages when placing the car in reverse, is superb and gives considerable, clear visibility. I prefer placing the unit in Driving Mode: OFF to leave the rear view camera on at all times, since it virtually eliminates blind spots. My daughter is still getting used to it, since she is having problems with depth perception that a typical rear-view mirror provides. I found it easy to adjust to and I have encouraged her to keep using it until she adapts to it because the visibility is so good. Now, it is not perfect. LDWS is hit or miss (mostly hit), but at the end of the day, I turned it off because it was distracting. The rear-view video works well during the day if you turn the mirror down so it is pointed toward the rear seats...if it is in the usual position facing toward the rear window, the reflected light from the mirror drowns out the video picture. At night, it is best to just turn it off and use it as a mirror. All cameras have halos and glare from headlights and this one is no exception, although it is much better than the OEM LaneWatch camera on my 2014 Honda Accord. The dash cam feature is basically just a bonus, so if other high school students attempt a hit-and-run in the parking lot next year, hopefully we will have them on candid camera! Overall, an excellent, well-built product.

Rear camera not working, too much glare
I have had this installed on my bmw 328 for a few days. Here is my initial thoughts. First, I should point out that I had this professionally installed. I'm not that good with this kind of work, and I didn't want to use my cigarette adapter to power the thing. Installation with additional required items to connect it directly to my car was $295 (NY area). Pros: 1. Great screen (even the installer who had never heard of this complimented the screen). 2. Great picture quality ( installer commented how good the picture was as well). 3. Great touchscreen 4. The lane departure warning is good, but you shouldn't rely on it as it doesn't register sometimes. 5. The built in dash cam is a great plus. Looks great. Cons: 1. Glare 2. Glare 3. Glare again. This is a big problem for me. It is especially had in the early morning driving conditions. 4. It turns off when my car turns off the engine when stopped at a light or something. I know this is due to how it was wired to the car, but according to the installer, all the other possible connections would have left this on all the time as the cigarette lighter does not turn off when the case is turned off. The instructions say that you should turn it off when not in use. This is a problem since recording stops when the engine turns off, and the system takes around 20 seconds to start when power is restored. Overall this is a great product. The only thing I would recommend is putting it on your car and driving around for a little to see how the glare affects usability before installing it. UPDATE: after about one week, I now get an error that says that there is no rear camera. I have spent $300 to get this professionally installed, and now I can't even use it as a back up camera. I have emailed customer support since all the phone numbers are for China. Let's see what happens.

Really wanted to like it!
First of all I really wanted to like it but some things are not working as expected. What I don’t like. 1st. In a sunny day the mirror reflects to much glare you will have to turn it off in order for it to be semi useful I think is even a bit dangerous. 2nd. In parking mode only the front camera works the rear one just gives you a black screen. 3rd. Every time you change lanes the thing beeps even when you have the future disabled. 4th. It does not record the speed or direction you’re going. Things I like. 1st. Quality of video recordings is very good. 2nd. Having a full screen mirror is the best. 3rd. Software is very simple an very easy to understand. 4th. Easy installation. Last. I think the camera is little bit pricey you can get most of the futures for a lot less $$$. This one is going back.

Auto vox x2 dual camera mirror is definitely a winner
I bought this camera mirror to film what is happening around when driving. At first I bought the X1, and returned it for the X2. The X2 has a sharper rear camera. I was told by auto vox that it was 960p. That said the X2 is definitely clearer at night in my opinion. The front camera takes excellent recordings as well. I could have gone cheaper but I wanted a full mirror image instead of a 4.5 inch screen inside of a 10 inch screen. The camera does what I want it to do while providing speed tracking as well. The lane departure feature works, but can be annoying. If it annoys you that much you can turn it off. The rear camera is amazing but when it rains not so much. After it rains make sure that dust and water drops are cleared away or your image will appear grainy. At one point mine was grainy and I found that the dried water and dust was causing the problem. This has a 5 pin USB connector for the rear camera and not many cameras will work with it. The rear camera will mount behind your license plate very discreetly. The auto park feature works well also when vibrations are logged. You can set this up over your rear view mirror and mount the rear view camera in less than a half hour. My mirror has a snug fit and does not move.... I set it up using the first ring of the rubber strap vs the last ring. You can set this up so that you can have the rear camera working all of the time. If not the mirror set to driving mode will display direction and speed. This way you can use it as you would your stock rear view mirror. The X2 cost 10.00 more than the X1 and for the sharper rear view camera it is worth it. Compared to other rearview cameras on Amazon it cost more, but has a larger viewing display of 10 inches vs 5. It has GPS where as the competition does not and you have to buy that feature. It displays direction and speed while driving where as most others do not for 50.00 more this is the way to go. This is a best bang for your buck if you really go searching for nice rearview mirror cameras. There are cameras out there selling for 1000.00 or more. Having a Sony Sensor and 1080p would really make this camera stand out, but for the price and features I feel that it is still a great rearview mirror choice. I ordered a 256gig SanDisk ultra storage card and I Have had no issues thus far. Buy this with confidence if you can part with the money.... It will make you smile when you get it installed. I installed it in about a half hour by myself.

Easy to install - Works with minimal setup - Excelent customer service
Update 4/27/19: After working with customer service and receiving a replacement unit the camera front and back works well. The touch screen allows for fast / easy setup. Please note that the performance issues listed below are now corrected with the replacement unit. Customer service sent a replacement unit without any hassles. Issue eliminated with replacement unit - Camera unit beeps all the time for no apparent reason. I have to reformat the Micro SD card when it stops working completely. If I bump or adjust the position of the rear view mirror the back camera goes off and I have to unplug the rear camera, plug it back in and restart the unit. PROS: * Touch Screen is easy to use / very responsive * GPS Time and speed information display works well * Good picture for the cost of the unit (night / low light conditions performance is good) * Quick / Easy installation *The unit works in parking mode from it's internal battery. The unit will record if the car is bumped for over 1 week. CONS: (Resolved when a replacement unit was sent) * Beeps for no reason / No error message displayed * Rear camera failure when the main unit position is adjusted * Weekly reformat of micro SD card - Tried different cards with same result. I asked the manufacturer to send a completely new unit with rear camera - have not received anything yet. Overall great camera if I can get it to work without beeping all the time or reformatting the memory card every week.

Great rearview camera with 1 flaw, amazing customer service.
I was having a lot of issues with this camera while it was hardwired to a always on port, but it worked flawlessly after I switched to hardwire it to a switched port. I chose this camera over others because this dashcam’s rear camera’s design is the best I’ve seen. Other dashcam’s rear cameras look like a long cube. Also, I like how the mirror looks with its full screen display. The rear view is really good, especially if it is raining and the back window is all watered up, if you mount it outside the car. The camera has two non-driving modes: visual motion activated recording when always on, and accelerometer motion activated recording on battery. However, the recording feature is not reliable when I wired the camera to be always on. When Always on, it filled up the SD card quickly with tons of useless files, and often, the mirror would not be recording due to “invalid video”, which are corrupted video files that cannot be played, and the mirror would crash and reboot. When I used a 64gb SD card, with the mirror hardwired to be always on, the SD card would be full and stop recording. Loop record does not work. However, I switched over to wiring it to a switched power source, the mirror always worked flawlessly. The on battery parking mode impact sensitivity does a pretty good job. During testing, I Can close a door softly and the mirror would start to record. If the car is hit in the parking lot, I have confidence the mirror will record that as well. The customer service was very good. Joanne worked with me to try to diagnose my original issues, and even sent me a replacement mirror in one day to see if it fixed my problems. After the return period has passed, and I was doing experiments to see if the mirror is finally working properly after switching to switched power. I forgot to update Joanne that the mirror works well, and after a couple weeks she even remembered to contact me to check with me even though I forgot to update her! In summary: if you are using this as rearview only, this is an amazing product, but only on switched power mode. Thus, you’re stuck with g motion activated parking mode rather than visual motion activated parking mode.

Love it!
Thank you for such a great product. My Auto-Vox arrived perfectly and in good time. It was easy to install and works like a charm. It does exactly what is described/written. Brilliant and crystal clear view. I have not experienced any hiccups to-date. I would definitely recommend this product. Thank you :)

High resolution easy to install.
Great product and very good quality screen and camera. Only complaint would be it would be nice if there weren’t three seperate cables connecting to the unit as it looks a bit messy. But it’s not a deal breaker. Also not clear if this unit has any form of battery protection circuit to make sure it doesn’t drain the cars battery when in standby, so just be careful where you wire it up in your car.

Great Customer Service
I've had the Autovox for a few months and just last week had some issue with the LCD having vertical lines. I contacted Autovox and got an immediate reaponse from Joanne. We troubleshooted and turned out that there was some issue we couldn't resolve so they sent me out a new unit under warranty! I have peace of mind that they guarantee the purchase! One thing to note is that this is designed for American (left hand drive) cars so the angle of the front camera is opposite.

Poor Quality
The camera quality is really poor, especially the rear one. I does not feel this product worth that cost.
